Is it wrong of me to find something amiss with a Bartender who happily serves up Absynthe looking down upon my idea of starting an Entheogen Importing Svc as being somehow immoral.?
well, absynth is not that strong in my experience. also its used in a very social situation ie a bar. people don't typically drink it for the psychedelic effect but rather the fact that its often of very high proof. Enthogens are used to get messed up beyond the point of 'typical' social interaction.
Is this a question about morality or hypocrisy? It is inconsistent to call one energetic exchange good and another energetic exchange evil as the only difference in the quality of each is the description offered by each constituent. It is unreasonable to expect consistent "moral" claims or actions.
Tdope, damn good reminder. lol :cheers2: (I sometimes assume people to function according to laws of logic and reason,,,, blame the Mechanic in me. ) Cherea, Yes, yes She did. Thanks all for the input, But as there are other factors involved, I think I'm just gonna keep fishin'.
How social a drug is has nothing to do with the merits of the drug, unless it's also highly habit forming, like ketamine. Absinthe is not psychedelic.... It's fucking alcohol, the wormwood don't do shit. Erowid has some interesting reports on smoking wormwood alone being something like pot, but in absinthe, you'll never feel it compared to the alcohol.
its mildly psychedelic, and i thought that was his point. but i see its more of being in the same business of getting fucked up. but again the social nature does matter because morals are social norms, and enthobotanicals are not social norms where as alcohol is a social norm, in fact its a very SOCIAL norm.
I don't give a fuck about social norms, all I care, to consider something moral, is that it hurts none but the person choosing to do it, if anyone at all. As far as selling alcohol versus chemicals or plants used for exploring and improving one's mind, neither is particularly immoral, but alcohol is highly damaging and any bartender who believes in their client's right to cause all sorts of serious damage to their bodies with alcohol should make no jugements on the choices of others, regarding any chemicals.
