I've been looking forward to experiancing LSD for about a year now and after searching for so long Lucy finally found me, :).

Now I need some advice on where to trip. I've never really had a psychedelic experience but I was thinking about tripping in my apartment. Since I can't experiance the outdoors because of the cold and amount of snow where I live. Also what's some "must do" things on acid?
Lastly, in my bathroom the mirror is quite large, should I avoid this to avoid a bad trip?

Any advice from experianced users would be greatly appreaciated!

    Peace&Love

Listening to music is a must if you are going to be confined to your apartment. It's not really my thing but many people enjoy watching movies, I recommend to try and check out the snow or outside a little bit if possible.

There are no must-dos IMO, and a trip within your apartment is fine, especially for the peak but you will likely feel very comfortable and almost sober in the final hours of the trip an outside walk would likely be awesome and safe for you, just bundle up a bit. I also live in the cold and it can be really refreshing while tripping.

As for some things you might enjoy: just imagine you are 5 years old again, anything interesting when you are a young child is likely epic while on any psychedelic. I enjoy drawing, listening to pink floyd and walking around outside while on LSD. Things that are meant to be trippy are often boring, but can be fun for some.

Also, the mirror isn't horrible, it can be fun. Just realize that what you are seeing likely isn't REALLY what you 100% look like so don't get too self conscious.

ALSO TAKE A SHOWER OR BATH, something like this is wonderful for the senses. When you see things on acid, you can see all of the colors of the rainbow coming through it, but when you feel something you feel a full range of sensation when you do, very enjoyable.

Just looking out your window can be fun too. Also, it might be fun to have a friend over, just to discus your ideas in depth with, someone you can remember with.

Write down some of your complex ideas or profound realizations, you might not know what you are talking about when you are sober, but it can help focus you during the trip.

Try to learn concepts you might not have known before, for example more complex mathematical concepts or social concepts, you can likely learn things much more effectively if you can focus yourself.

Give everything you think of a try, just go where you are taken.

Make sure, for your first time, that you can peak in a comfortable environment with no threat of intrusion. Turn OFF your cell phone, if you have a land line unplug it.

The internet (HF, especially) can be great fun, or boring, depends on your mood. TV, with any normal "funny" shows or whatever, is a very bad idea and a waste of a trip, and the same applies to video games. Have art supplies, musical instruments, good music of different genre's, and anything else that you enjoy on hand.

I don't suggest the whole thing of avoiding the mirror. I'm quite glad I've looked in mirrors on just about every trip I've ever taken. I think if you can't see yourself in the mirror, you still have some psychedelic work to do on yourself, and a mirror is a part of the work you need to do.

I suggest the "handbook for the therapeutic use of LSD-25", which is, I believe, hosted on the MAPS website. It has some good insight into the types of things that LSD can help with and the ways it can do this.

Also, some would suggest a low dose to start out, but I would not. You may want to be alone, but have a sitter you CAN call, if needbe. If you know anything about the strength of the hits go for what you've been told is a medium trip (and not what they said "for your first time") or if you don't know, 2 hits is often a good number, it could be quite strong but you will be able to handle it if you're in reasonably good psychiatric health. When people work their way up with doses that are too small, they may be able to suppress the helpful effects of LSD, because they can be painful. You can not hide from yourself on LSD, if you have a sufficient dose. For example with the mirror, where some people see scary things, this is something that you need to come to understand and conquer, and not conquer in the sense of ignoring or suppressing.

Remember, "fight the ocean and you will drown". If you get into trouble remember that you're JUST on a drug, and it's just magnifying different aspects of your personality, and if they disturb you you should try to face and understand them instead of ignore them.

As has been said, after the peak, you will still be tripping for quite a while, but will have a handle on yourself and the effects and be able to go out, snow sounds like a blast on LSD. But remember that tension or stress, or lots of people, self consciousness, etc, can make you trip VERY hard. Don't carry anything illegal on you, make sure that you don't even have anything illegal once you have dropped it. If you get in some sort of trouble, never admit to ANYTHING, say you're just tired, haven't slept in X hours, etc. Having HAD LSD could potentially get you prosecuted, depending on where you live, I think, because being on it could be used as evidence of possession. And either way, that's just more stats on availability that they do not need and should not have.

Also, you should probably eat something light but energizing and healthful like an hour before dropping, drop early in the day (before noon, ideally) after getting a full night's restful sleep, and have healthy simple food on hand for the second half of the trip. Fruit is good to have, quality chocolate is good, they both are non-threatening and hard to over think (or at least, over think in a bad way) and give healthy energy. You may well get hungry for more by 6+ hours.

Well there isn't any Must-dos, it's a really impulsive experience, so it's kind of just like what you want to do at the time is a must do. However, you simply have to listen to music, it's just crazy. I actually enjoy looking into the mirror, some people seem to be scared, but just know that you're tripping. When I look long enough, I see a parallel universe where everythings backwards.

Your apartment is perfectly fine, bad trips are overestimated, so don't focus on that idea, just "play along". If it's cold where you live, try just being able to look out a window, that'd be great. I think movies can be fun for the come down, after your trip. Kind of just do whatever you want, draw, paint, creative things are just mindblowing. Or just sit down and have a deep conversation.

Music is probably my favorite thing on LSD though, it is just the most incredible experience. It's so powerful, clear, moving. Just have a good time man!

^You know? That's one thing I never understood. Lennon would obviously admit to the drug references in his music with Revolver being the acid album, Rubber Soul being the pot album. But when he says Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds isn't about LSD, I'm surprised people don't believe him.. It's not like he's afraid to admit it... It's funny. I don't really know why you randomly posted that though...

OP another thing, if you play an instrument, you will have a blast doing it on acid. Drawing -for me- at least always comes out crappy, except near the peak, where you reach an amazing surge. I do suggest though, do stuff you like, not things that are "suppose to be trippy" so if you don't like Jimi Hendrix for instance, that doesn't mean you have to listen to him because you're tripping. Just do what you like, explore your interests further.

Lennon said it wasn't about LSD, but then he said it was about LSD and that he was just bullshitting because of how big of deal it would have been. Least thats what I heard...

If it wasn't directly related to Lsd it is somewhat related to it... like the higher powers communicated through him.

^Well there's clearly some relevance to LSD in its musical aspirations and such. But I think his point is that the song title was coinicidenetly(sp?) L.S.D when abbreviated, and the lyrics could easily be about a painting. It's still possible that he wrote it on LSD, or it was simply inspired through his experience, but I'm going to give Lennon the benefit of the doubt on this one, because he was very open about his LSD use in the first place. There would be no reason to "deny" this if it were in fact about it

I thought he said it was a picture his son drew of a girl in his class.... (maybe imaginary being is right though, and it was lennin's own class)

I'm sure he was telling the truth, in some way.

But it seems rather apparent that the song is about a psychedelic experience, no matter what the name may or may not quite abbreviate to.

Listening to Lucy in the Sky With diamonds while on a decent dose of acid was actually scary for me lol. The voices sounded like aliens. The setting probably didn't help, hiding in a public bathroom stall.

lucy in the sky was one of the most spacey songs.. I don't know how to describe it, Across the Universe scared me kind of. The chorus saying nothings gonna change my world, changed voices each time he said it, sounding kind of demonic. Lennon gets into your head during a trip if you allow it.

Well OP I just have some reinforcement to what others have said before me...

Do it in your apt because that's where you will be comfy.

Listen to music for sure but make sure you just do whatever you want.

Aside from music I recommend looking at a lava lamp w/ music playing-pretty cool, try to get a blacklight and blacklight posters that don't look scary-my friends have this one with mushrooms-elves-dragonflies-toads-and all this crazy nonsense and we ended up making a whole story up about the poster and what was going on in the picture.

The mirror is nothing to be afraid of on LSD in my opinion but just try not to get stuck staring for too long.

By the way-if you find yourself thinking too much and it gets annoying (happened to me 2 weekends ago) and you really don't want to think as much as you are try to just talk to somebody who won't judge you and will have a lot of "yeah-no way-try to explain it" expressions. Usually a best buddy works. It did me wonders and after a while I talked everything out that I wanted to and it made me fall asleep easier.

    Remember to ride the wave

I have not listened to lucy in the sky with diamonds on LSD, but I strongly suggest revolver on any psychedelic. It's a wonderful album, with interesting influences (love you to, for instance) that go very very well with psychedelics.

    Great advice, thank you all.
Question, if I take one microdot and find that I'm not tripping hard enough can I take another one 1-2 hours in? Or is it better just to save for another time? Just don't want to waste.
Also I will have a spotter on my trip, my gf. She has no experiance with psychadelic but he will be there to help and talk to me.
As for doing things from my childhood, I think Leo would be sick on LSD, lol.
