I just started my dreads (they are about 1 day old), but they are not as volumous and 'wooly' as i'd like. There are only 20 of them, but they seem kinda thin. (which is weird because I have thick hair)..As they mature will they gain some volume an 'woolyness?' Thanks for the answers!!:2thumbsup:
only 20? yer gonna have some fatties did you twist and rip? with time they will definitely thicken up and take better shape
awesome i wanted fatties. tehe. They just came out so not fat, i was concerned. (although only slightly, because i have really thick hair and a LOT of it..it couldn't have just dissapeared. tehe). Yes I did the twist and rip method. I've had backcombed dreadies before, but i started those with tons and tons of wax so i cut them off and started again. I want dreads, but dont need nasty ones! I like the 'rope' look a lot, so i chose twist and rip. thanks for the advice
They'll probably kink back on themselves, as well as just generally squishing down and getting shorter and fatter.
I don't think mine fattened up loads and loads. Definitely a bit. They also got flat and so look like they are fatter (from a certain angle I guess). I was a bit baffled, just like you, because I have quite a lot of hair and only 30+ dreads.
ehhh, I'd rip some because only 20 and your dreads will be fat and chunky. not usually a good look on women
