How would you define a Hippy?

What would you say the modern perseption of a hippy is?
I am 14years old and many people of the same age would call me a hippy. But i wouldnt say i was one myself, I would say i have some values many (what people would calll) hippies share. But i wouldn't say i was one, Soo i was just wondering, How you would define a Hippy?

Theres no bloody definition of a hippie! I mean theres the things people can say make you a hippie, but thats just bleeding material! I mean if you think your a hippie or whatever then good for you, if not, big woop! I think the thing we all have in common is a conscience

Why do you need definition? Who cares about definitions?!? If you feel like hippie, you don't have to define it. You just feel it or not. And also, if you feel like that it doesn't mean that you have to do everything that hippies do... If you really need definition, look in the dictionary.

 

A hippie is a rope smokin' hair farmin' patchouli brewin' gay lovin' tree huggin' person. It's as simple as that. If you believe in 60's ideals, you are a hippie, That crap about not working, bathing or caring is bullshit.

Actually, to be totally truthful... a hippie is simple someone who believes in Peace and Love. The rest of that stuff is just window dressing, and irrelevant. Long hair, pot smokin, rock and roll, all that stuff helps, but that does NOT make you a hippie. Long hair don't make you a hippie, love in your heart and peace in your actions does.

 

well personaly i am not a hippie 'Peace and Love.' are good but don't realy solve a lot of problems realy because both sides need to think the same way .. wich is a bit unlikely because they would not be in the situation in the first place.

I agree totally with you on this,I have my own deffinition of what is hip to me, but i sure wont tell people what they need to do to be a hippy. They have to figure out what the right way is for themselves.:sunglasse

oh well. a hippie can do drugs, but doesnt have to. they usually care about the environment and nature. but i think being one is all about peace and love. that's the main thing. it's about unity. especially unity of the hippies, and having others accept you for who you are. living some-what naturally. being happy.
