I am planning to get a tattoo on a scar on my leg. About 6 years ago I broke my leg and they fixed it with a titanium plate and 12 screws. Of course that left a scar. I've been thinking of putting a tat on the scar. Here is the drawing Here's where I got the drawing idea. So, anybody got a tat on a scar? Does it look OK? Did it hurt more than tats on normal skin?
In my office storeroom. Went to get something, my foot got pinned in some plastic and I tripped & went down real slow, twisting my foot. Felt like an uneventful fall, no pain, except my foot was laying in the wrong direction. When I tried moving it I knew it was bad. It is amazing how easy it is to break a leg. My alter-ego wrote about it here: http://home.earthlink.net/~robwrites/id13.html
Congratulations on the cool looking tattoo! I have several myself, and one covers some big scar tissue. I have noticed over the years that the ink seems to fade more in the scarred areas. Good luck!
I have some missing nerve endings in the scar area. Most of it I didn't feel anything but at the top the normal irritation of a tattoo could be felt. Yeah, the skin is soo thin on the scar. I worry more about the ink bleeding in the area where the fine lines won't be discernible.
It turned out extremely good considering it's on top of a scar. I always hear that if you get a tat fixed up too many times, the scar tissue will make it look washed out. I assumed the same would go for tattooing over scar tissue, but I guess that's not the case.
