So, I don't trip too much, and I don't usually have a reliable way of getting LSD, so when I get the chance to acquire some I try to. So I'm thinking of getting a 10 strip so that I'll have it for awhile and not need to worry about getting anymore. Question is how long will it stay potent for? and what are best ways to keep it good? Most likely will be just WoW blotter, but chance it could be liquid dropped on candy or something. Was thinking to put it in wax paper wrapped up tight and keep in a little box in a dark cool area. If it's on candy maybe use tin foil to wrap it.
Anywhere you think exposure to light and heat and to a certain extent humidity are limited as much as possibly in your situation. I usually buy larger amounts to avoid having to buy often, so I wrap them in tinfoil in 5 strips (so when I pull them out, not too many are exposed to condensation and wash off of the blotter) and then wrap those in plastic, then I put them all in a ziplock bag, pushing out all air, then I put that in the freezer. Kinda overkill, as some people just put it in a book and stuff. With a vial, I wrap the whole thing in tinfoil and put it in the freezer, only if it's suspended in something that won't freeze though.
Many people use the freezer method, but I know people who have stored blotters at room temp in a drawer for a while with no loss in potency. I read a study someplace where after two weeks at 77 degrees a sample of LSD still showed no loss of potency. Once you get above that it was not as stable. If no freezer is available I would wrap it in the glossy pages of a magazine, put that in a zip lock bag, then put that between the pages of a book, and place someplace dark and dry.
Is glossy paper (magazine) better than wax paper? Would rather not use the freezer, as it's shared and out of respect I keep this to myself. Good point with splitting down to a lower amounts per package so you only expose like a 5 at time. Storage shouldn't be above 50-60 F at the most, so in 2 weeks no loss of potency, but how long would it be expected to last? year? 2? ever?
Wrap it up in tin foil, stick it in a baggie and put it somewhere that stays dry and relatively cool. There is no reason to put it in the freezer and when you do, you're needlessly risking exposing it to moisture. The freezer is not needed at all. Also the doses will not get "washed off" the blotter by a little condensation. The LSD is INSIDE the paper, not just laying on top of the paper. When it is laid, the paper is soaked completely in LSD solution and it is soaked throughout the paper. It dries and evaporates leaving the LSD trapped all throughout the fibers of the paper. Basically just don't let it actually get wet/damp and don't let it get hot and you'll be fine.
People on the internet claim to have found blotters from as back as the 60's that still had some effects. I have never had any issue with storage up to several months without losing potency. You just don want the paper to be porous, magazine paper has always worked for me.
Wrapping it in paper is silly. Paper absorbs moisture, you don't want to wrap it in something that can wick up moisture of the humidity gets super high. So again, tin foil works great and then put it in a baggie. I wouldn't wrap it in paper, not the best material to choose.
For sure, moisture is no good. But I live a mile above sea level, it's dry already. That's why their was a lab here in the 60's (maybe now who knows). We have an excellent climate for LSD. I have gotten doses in the mail wrapped the same way, so I am not alone in this thinking,
I like to plan for worst case scenarios. If you just have paper inside paper stuck somewhere, it can easily get wet if something odd happens. If I have Paper wrapped in tinfoil, wrapped in a baggie, much less likely to get wet. I'm talking long term storage here. I'm guessing it rains where you live right? So this means there are super high spikes in humidity. I've left hash oil out over night when the rains came and the humidity in the air totally messed up the consistency of my hash oil. If you've ever had larges amounts of powder to store, you can see this can be a problem as well. Folks often store powder in two baggies with some dry rice in the outside bag to wick up excess humidity. Also no one wants to send paper wrapped in tin foil in the mail, that is a little conspicuous. This is why you'll get doses wrapped in paper. Its not like you have to really worry about the LSD leaking out of one sheet of paper into the other, its not like that. Its just that paper is not really a suitable vessel for long term storage because its not really good at keeping out light/oxygen/moisture in general.
Just make sure to keep it out of heat light and away from airflow you will be golden. I've had blotters survive months carelessly tucked away in a DVD case.
i recently got a few and stupudily left them in the same bag partyed at 2 events and yes they faded lesson learnt i will b putting these ones in silver a sheet in foil at a time
I've had it stored for almost a year in nothing but a plastic bag, well two bags. I had some wrapped in aluminum foil when I got it that had been that way for a month then I put it in a bag and it was ok then and no difference in potency 6 months later.
Your not. That's how I usually do it. I hear that tin foil is actually bad to store your blotter in. Oxidizes it faster. Something like that.
It doesn't really make a lot of sense chemically. Also people act like the LSD is lying directly on top of the sheets and its not. It is embedded into the fibers of the paper. Tin foil won't ruin your LSD but hey, don't use it if you don't want. The point is that wrapping it in paper is stupid. A plastic baggie is a much better idea. You want to avoid as much exposure to light, moisture and heat. Paper degrades quickly and it is not very resistant to light or moisture. Blotter in a plastic baggie, tucked out of sight would be just fine.
I use to worry about this too, all you have to do is put it in a plastic bag in a dark safe area. Hiding it in a plastic bag in a cd case would be perfect. I hide mine in this small plastic bag that fits in my backpack. I've accidentally brought to school many times, even when the dogs do a drug search, and nothing ever happens. Just don't talk about it and it's super safe. I just like to have it around me incase someone were to mess around in my room. But whatever works for you. Just a plastic bag out of light and heat. (Room Temperature works well, but I've also heard fridge/freezer, but I'd say room temp is good for at least a couple of months, if you were to do the fridge/freezer, wait for it to heat up to room temp before you drop)
