My life was this game for a period of time, until I found the world of raves.

But anyways I quit playing shortly after the release of Cataclysm and was wondering what direction the game is heading in now? Has it gotten any better? Or is it slowly crumbling?

It sucks dick. It's lost at least a million subscribers in the last year, and that's just total gone, they've been working frantically to offset the number with new subscribers.

Anyways, it's a shit game, not worth it anymore. New devs took the amazing, wonderful game they inherited and shat all over it.

They have introduced a feature that allows you to make any armor look like any given armor, or something... "transmogrification"..... how fucking stupid is that? very stupid. And this combined with "reforging" and that sort of thing, and how ezmode the whole game is, just makes things sad. We all have fucking heals, FUCKING ROGUES HAVE HEALS, what? They broke how classes work, by listening to the most retarded 8 year old whiners from every class who want to be every class that they're NOT, who don't understand the whole point of the tradeoffs of the class system.

But I personally think vanilla was amazing, burning crusade was amazing, wotlk coulda been good but the whole damn thing played like an early alpha and needed a lot more original art and ideas and shit (and less ezmode and free mounts and pets for whiners) and all that sort of thing. So if you disagree with this viewpoint, you might still like it.

I would suggest the "feenix" vanilla servers. Good servers with most things working nicely, set in the heyday of wow, good drop rates for leveling and whatnot without getting bored at "blizzlike" speed from when the game was realllllly slow, but when you make max level it's still not that easy, I have like 3 epics on my main there. And PVP is fun and battlegrounds/titles/etc work.

*edit* to their credit, there where like two cool ideas in the three levels I played through before giving up on the game. The underwater zone COULD have been really cool except for the lame ways a lot of things where implemented, but it's pretty cool flying out there and dropping off your shit.... flying around in azeroth would be cool, but is too little too late.... there was some cool unique stuff in the underwater zone, like the giant shellfish... other than the fact that their idea seemed entirely a shellfish adaptation of "the sandman", neil gaimons character.... "blah blah blah old powerful thing with a gas mask face, godlike, oh yeah shellfish"... but cool none the less.

Don't waste your money, I would have been happier and spent nearly as long occupied if I'd spent what I did on cata on a fat sack of weed.

What?!?! And to think I used to be so in love with that game. That armor thing sounds like the most fucking gah! I don't even know. I remember when looking cool meant you had great gear. And I loved arena as a cloth wearer, so if rogues have heals, there is no way I am going back.

But rogues also don't behave like rogues anymore.

They basically made all classes the same, without admitting it.... The entire point of classes is supposed to be tradoffs between vulnerability and ability, and they made the game pathetic for people who didn't like not being able to do everything.

But that's my take on things. If you really liked WOTLK you'll probably like cata, I guess. The model switching for gear is basically to let you get models from when the game didn't suck, to get people to nostalgia and keep playing. You can now arena in full T3 with the corrupted ashbringer...... etc. It's because they've been making a business of stealing and recycling vanilla/tbc textures and models with slight colour changes, but this doesn't work on famous armor/weapons that everyone remembers. So they just let YOU change the model, and they're not to blame.

straight up they made a good game bad. they even changed the epic music in the game to some crappy orchestra music. they ruined world pvp because people whined about being killed on pvp servers. basically the game is no longer a world of warcraft but world of instances. basically at the highest level u got some raids and some battlegrounds but that is crap cus that is a instance. I only played the game for world pvp and now that its gone it is a shit game.

Well the game is about 8 or 9 years old at least by this point. I am surprised it lasted as long as it did considering how outdated it has become.

WoW was my life for a short while too. It's hard to stay with it when Blizz keeps making an newer and gayer expansion every single year. I don't understand why they just don't add more raids/battlegrounds/dungeons/heroics instead of redoing the entire game every year.

I mean, they recently released info on the newest one " The Mists of Panderia", absolutely ridiculous. What the hell, Pandas? I still play time to time, but that's because I have a mac and I literally CAN'T play the newer and better mmos out today like SWTOR and Skyrim.

I started to think WoW was getting weird when Wrath came out. How long did you do ICC? Like half a year? So bad. Vanilla & BC will always be my favorite expansions, I get so nostalgic when I think about it. I wish it came back :(

I do have to say though, the Transmog they have now from the newest patch is prettttty kew. I look sexy as hell. You can switch the *look only* of any one of your items (including weapons) with anything you want basically, it just has to have a skill on it. Once you equip it for looks, your current gear and stats still remain. :2thumbsup:

The game is old, it lost its luster.

But i still play, and i found that if you play for recreation its alot better than playing competivevly anymore.

Now a new raid is released and 2 days later world firsts come out and everyone is like /gamedone.

So just playing it in the casual time and you can still enjoy it.

Yes this culture of showing violence where people hurt each other or kill each other is extremely evil.

I cant and dont watch films like that, it hurts me to see people being violent. I cant find pleasure in that.

People who watch with pleasure violence or worse, play an active role in such games, are already mentally very involved in the evil dark energy of this sick society.

How can any sane person find pleasure in hurting and killing randomly?

It got too anti-social. Dungeon finder, raid finder, guild finder, and just flying anywhere.

EverQuest, now that was a real MMO. Got to know people closer than family.

Each image or thought of violence changes the psyche a little bit as much as each image or thought of love changes the psyche a bit in a direction.

Its impossible to see an image or even have a thought that absolutely doesnt affect and alter your psyche a little bit.

The Buddhists for example know that since long ago and take care of even the tinyest thoughts because they have an effect on your psyche as well.

For me people who see much violence in films or games are very different from people who spend their time doing things with love and non violence. Its a very obvious difference.
