Due to a long stumbling traumatic unfamous artistic career I stumbled across a way to paint which I consider absolute truth. By accessing the unconscious through random and automatic creation one can obtain crucial meaning and metaphor through his/her art. The conscious attempt can only lead us thus far yet delving into the unseen shall bring us real connection with our minds. Ignoring our inner devices can only lead to hardships. This painting technique i devised allows total freedom. At first random movements of paint are placed on a structure with determined energy and questioning. next comes the initial viewing. Upon looking intently at the mess of paint images start to form. Images that become ideas and meaning. Once attached to an image or images it is allowed to make that image or images more understandable and accentuate them into conscious viewing. With over painting one can bring these images to the sight of the humble viewer and then create a system of investigation due to its answerable qualities to the predetermined questions. A metaphoric answer emerges and allows the artist to understand a new way of life. Yes it can be personal. yes it can be related to those around us. Yes it can be related to the world as a whole. There's a place for a link in your profile through your User CP. Click Edit Your Details and just a little bit down is a space you can post your homepage url. Posting an outside homepage url within the first couple posts tends to raise flags... particularly when the link has little to do with the topic
are you saying that no one is allowed to link to anything outside this forum? also my music has a lot to do with my art which i didn't think to explain. can i link to my music anywhere on this forum in a thread?
Post the link and enlighten us the relation to your art. Rules aren't necessarily rigid... I do tend to be trigger happy after having to deal with spammers- which clearly you are not. Carry on and peace.
thanks man.. ok well as i was saying about my abstraction process with painting.. music is very similar.. especially when it comes to improvisation! practicing a riff over and over again is one thing but just playing whatever comes is another. Interestingly with singing its even more strange. Words can flow out of the unconscious or subconscious that you had no idea you wanted to say. Same goes for art. Sometimes you can create images that you didn't know you could create. The unknown parts of your mind are much more exciting than the parts you already know don't you think. Sure sometimes disturbing and frightening but nonetheless interesting. Random and improvised artistic attempts can be more enlightening than practiced ones where everything is rigid and in place although I will say that sometimes the results are awful as in some of my songs.
