well just about an hour and a half ago it happened again. incase you dont know what sleep paralysis is.

it is when you go to a state while sleeping, where your mind is fully awake, and you can see and hear everything thats going on around you, but your body can not move.

it happened a couple of times actually, just today alone.. i mean it happens to me pretty regularly but, today in particular it happened more than once..

okay, so the first one, i immediately realized i was going into the SP state. or REM state, i opened my eyes, and started attempting to move my body, and my head and everything, and then i woke up.

    i was like oh man...

and i was sooo super tired, that in a matter of seconds - atleast it felt like it, i was going back into my REM state, i was like dammit! the only thing i was able to move was my head, but thats cause i detected it pretty early.
so i started moving my head to face left, then right repeatedly, and then i thought about how scary that would look if somebody walked in on me doing that...
laying in bed, eyes wide opened, quickly moving my head back and forth..
and then i imagined myself self seeing someone doing that.. which got me more scared..
but then i woke up. thank god.
i had been up since 4:30am - my bf gets up to leave work at 5:30 which is pretty much when i start having SP.(sleep paralysis)
cause im afraid of being alone at home when nobodies here.

so me being scared to sleep alone is probably the cause of it.

so only having an hour of sleep, i quickly fell back to sleep.

this time when i was i dreaming and on my way to my SP state. i didn't realize it right away. it just felt pretty real tho.
cause how i saw my room in my dream, is exactly the same as it is in real life.

anyways what happened was i was dreaming this - although i thought it was real.
i was eating a few slices of pizza lol, and then the phone rang, and it was my bro saying hey, are you alright?
and im like yeah im fine, why - when i saw a white chocolate or something like that of an easter bunny hidden under my office chair. and then another one on the couch. and im thinking.. wtf? is it easter ?? and im thinking maybe my bf hid them there. and my bro was like hello? u alright? and then suddenly i was paralyzed. i was able to tell him hold on, and then my bf came in to help me out. then i woke up.

reality: was in bed, just woke up, no pizza, phone is not in service, no where close to easter (which is probably what those white chocolates represented?) and my bf was at work.l

i was like, wow thats kinda weird.. what do you suppose it means? anything?

after i woke up from that, i went to get something to eat, and searched online about the causes and shit about it.
and i read other peoples experience with sleep paralysis, and none of mine are ever as scary as those. im glad about that.

my heart actually started racing, reading other peoples experiences. ugh. shouldn't have kept reading, but i couldnt help it.
and now i feel scared of everything. even that ad of that woman smiling and that keeps looking at me as i type this is freaking me out.

anyways, im so scared of being in that state, even if im not seeing any demonic shit, its still scary as shit when it happens. im pretty much afraid to sleep. like i cant sleep at night cause my bf snores really loud. i mean REALLY loud. and i cant sleep when he's gone, cause im scared..

the difference with this and lucid dreaming is that you can not move. at all. your body is paralyzed, and you can see everything around you.

    anyone have these experiences?

Yes! It is pretty terrifying. It first happened to me when I was a teenager....and seems to happen now when my sleep patterns get disturbed, so after a long flight etc.

The first time it happened, I had no idea what it was and just thought I must be going insane....it took me a few years to stumble across a mention of it in some Carl Sagan book.
For me, I usually get quite distinct auditory hallucinations as well as visual ones...accompanied by the most intense feelings of terror imaginable. The worst thing is I always know whats happening, but am totally powerless to move or to stop it.
Sometimes if I feel myself slipping into such a state, I can sit up suddenly and wake myself up to avoid it...but not always.
Interestingly, the feeling of slipping into sleep paralysis is exactly the same as the feeling I got when experimenting with DMT in the form of Ayahuasca. It feels sort of like a mental slip or slide into another realm of conciousness. This suggests to me that DMT definately plays some role in the sleep/dreaming process.

I have had these same experiences in the past. Lol it used to happen once my girlfriend had gone to uni and I was alone and that was when it kicked in.

I used to shout punch and kick the bed and the walls and then I used to realise that this is a dream and I can't actually move at all. Very, very weird! I soon realised the only way I could get out of it was by not fighting it and just relaxing.

I've had sleep paralysis a few times in my life, whenever I felt like that though I would either be having a paranormal experience or I could've been hallucinating/ night terror (though only one of them has been terrifying like a nightmare.)
    Not sure which it is.

Yes, terrible problem. When I do have this, always it will be with Heart Palpitations, also. It is only 1 sleep problem, of so much I have.

The first, and worst time.. We move to a new home, it is in the same city, and night 1. I sleep on the floor, alone in the new room. I woke maybe 2-3am, it was very dark. I can not move, and the new room door is open. I see a human shape shadow, leaning (sp?) around this door, and watching me. Sleep Paralysis and Night Terror! Together!

I have many bad nightmares of a plane crash, I always will watch from the ground. To me, this is a worse problem.
