introduced himself as "the man that scares the neighborhood," while wearing a bathrobe and bedhead at 4 in the afternoon, would you assume he's a serial killer? What if he then goes on to admire your roommate's boxy white van, regaling you with stories of how he once drove a van just like it? What if you walk slowly to the door and leave him standing in front of the van, staring at it in rapture? and look out the window and he's still there 5 minutes later?
I might assume that he works nights and did once have a van just like that and it brought back great memories. Of course I might just also double check that I locked the door!
Umm...A guy friendly enough to introduce himself without worrying about appearance? Someone with not only the capacity for contemplation, but putting that above "getting things done"? *Not normal alert!* A side note: a man who admits he "scares the neighbourhood" is most likely is completely harmless and sane. It's the ones who pretend to be perfect you gotta worry about. Meliai - sounds like you're getting old. You're far too young for this kind of menopausal thinking.
Maybe he was just tripping on some really good acid and the van gave him a flash back of the good ole days.
maybe hes a drunk and remembered accidentally killing an animal crossing the road, and stayed up all night trying to scrape its dead remains off the floor, and the van since everybody in the neighborhood are animal lovers, and the dog senses it.
I wouldn't think he's a serial killer. Now the one's who look "normal" and dress all uptight, and formal, I would have a problem with lol. This guy looks like he would have issues, like needing an alarm clock or possibly a car seeing as he is eyeballing the van lol. But a serial killer...naw.
lol its not menopausal thinking, its the line of thinking from someone who has spent way too many nights reading true crime well into the early morning hours. I think every strange man I come across is a potential serial killer. Its my biggest fear. It might be totally irrational, or I could get murdered by a serial killer tomorrow. You just never know. I've generally found that serial killers leave their neighbors alone, so thats a plus. The neighbors are the ones that think the serial killers are just "quiet and keep to themselves." haha I like this theory. I noticed the other day that he recycles. This made me less scared of him for some reason. I'm not sure why, because I've never read any studies noting a correlation between serial killers and destroying the environment.
