The 60s were known well for its music and role of LSD Jefferson Airplane White Rabbit - There countless references to "Alice in Wonderland" D.C.B.A 25- The chords of the song, and the 25 referring to LSD-25 The Beatles I am The Walrus - Going out of their minds, loving the free spirits "I am he, as you are he, as you are me, and we are all together!" Tomorrow Never Knows - "Turn off your mind and float down stream" Strawberry Fields - "Nothing is Real" I could go on for ages, but I just love all of the correlation to LSD and music and I want to know what people think they mean. I've found lots of emotion behind this lyrics, and they all seem to be about the bands/band members experiences which I just love And I would love to hear some other great songs with a direct reference to LSD. (Of course I know more than what was listed... but I'm really looking for a psychedelic band to discover that I have possibly overlooked) I can always suggest some to for people interested.
I have mentioned them before on here but Primus are definitely a band to listen to on acid (as well as sober). Now their 'hits' like 'Jerry was a Racecar Driver', 'Wynona's Big Brown Beaver' and 'Too Many Puppies' aren't really trippy, but delve deep into their albums (apart from Antipop) and you've got some real gems. 'Over the Electric Grapevine' is a song written about a specific acid trip and 'Green Ranger' is the blotter he took on that same trip, but describes darker moments from it. The albums 'Pork Soda' and 'Tales From the Punchbowl' are ones to listen to in their entirety on acid, as they pull your brain in one direction and all of a sudden, BANG! you've been sent on a whole other journey. A few other songs for Lucy, 'Groundhog's Day', 'The Last Superpower aka Rapscallion', 'Jilly's on Smack', 'Ol Diamondback Sturgeon', 'Hamburger Train', 'Fish On', 'Hellbound 17 1/2', 'Glass Sandwich', 'Duchess and the Proverbial Mindspread'.

i've said it many times on here before...but Built to Spill their song by the same name says: "you feel...like you are on the verge of something real on a roll and built to spill this is how you'll always feel it's no big deal" http://grooveshark.com/s/Built+To+Spill/kNSaX?src=5
Lol should be "psychedelics in music" But yeah I posted this in the other music thread, pork liked it . I love listening to pink floyd and zep and flaming lips on acid, but my go to song is always this one to get the hippy feel and the studio version gets really trippy about half way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuoasKSGyvk&feature=related"]Let's Live For Today - Grass Roots - YouTube
I like psychedelic rock, but when I'm on psychedelics, I listen almost exclusively to electronic dance music. Usually the mellower stuff like trance, psybient, etc.
aww yeah, dude! this song is so good i think i'm gonna have the DJ play it at my weddding. some other bands that i personally find 'psychedelic,' but might also just be bands that i like are: Pinback http://grooveshark.com/s/Bouqet/3mFKbp?src=5 Minus the Bear (saw them on 2ce) http://grooveshark.com/s/Drilling/2BBNz5?src=5 Maritime (had a particular trippy listen to this song on 2cb) http://grooveshark.com/s/Young+Alumni/WAz9K?src=5 The Sea and Cake http://grooveshark.com/s/An+Echo+In/3U1o9F?src=5 The Helio Sequence - 2 songs! 1st is upbeat, 2nd is slowed down. psychedelic lyrics for sure http://grooveshark.com/s/Can+t+Say+No/LmiAV?src=5 http://grooveshark.com/s/Back+To+This/1iHxgh?src=5 El Ten Eleven (saw them on a light dose of L - an instrumental band...can't pick just one song) http://grooveshark.com/s/3+Plus+4/3PfetV?src=5 http://grooveshark.com/s/I+Like+Van+Halen+Because+My+Sister+Says+They+Are+Cool/3PfbBq?src=5 Cursive (had a particular trippy listen to them on 3 hoffman blotters in the woods by a stream) http://grooveshark.com/s/Sink+To+The+Beat/2r7qjH?src=5
I found a way to interpret the whole song a bit more deeper on acid, such a good one. One thing I noticed is the simple guitar (even I can play it ;P), just echoing the message of the song to live a simple life in the moment.
If you don't mind going darker, Robert smith of the cure combined up with siouxsie Sioux to form the band "the glove" to create an album dedicated to LSD "Blue Sunshine" one of the slang terms used for acidI love it personally
frank zappa is the guy i wanna lisen to next time..i try to like him sober, but i just can't get into it..i know once i drop it will all come together.

Fat Freddy's Drop - name apparently inspired by their experience on some Fat Freddy's Cat. They're a whole combination of music, the "drummer" is a techno/rave DJ, horn section come from a jazz background, vocals are more from soul, guitarist is a country boy and the keys player, well fuck knows - but he's sick. lulz @ aural sex. thx for those guys, I like their sound. Not exactly on topic but I'm glad you mixed it up.
