So this weekend I had the pleasure to pick my very own shrooms. It was quite fun, me and 4 buddies went down towards the shore, and picked about 200 shrooms in about 30-45 minutes. After that, we ventured off into the woods on ATV's towards the ''4 wheeler shack''. Once we got there, I made a tea with 55 shrooms, and drank it. Had a decent trip, went to a farm, played with cows and dogs, sticking my full hand in a baby's cow mouth... good times. ANYWAYS. My question is, could I go pick more shroomies, and re-plant them? In mason jars? Or crates? I'd like to put them outside my house. But then again... winter is approching, what temperature do shrooms die? If I protect them from wind/snow, can they live in freezing temperatures?
You can take spore prints or clone the mushrooms onto agar and grow them in mason jars and then transplant the mycellium outside and have an outdoor patch. If they are Psilocybe cubensis they will not survive below freezing.... but you can always make up a batch of jars during the winter and transfer them outside again in the spring. try this http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=416240&f=118
