Is there anything I can do now about it?

I know my brother, with 6-7 year locks has this already. He chooses to wear a bandana + hat to cover it.

Oh and does almost everyone get this?

    Bye. :2thumbsup:

my dreads are thinning out on top a little but I wouldn't attribute it to hair loss, rather just a tendency for dreads to migrate from the top of your head.

Dreads Have To Get Their "Fix" Of Hair From Somewhere, And Then Gravity Takes

Over, Hence The Sparsness On The Crown Of The Head...:).

If you have thinning hair or baldness runs in your family you should start taking saw palmetto. Its stops testosterone from turning into DHT which causes hair to thin and fall out. I even add oils to my rinses that help thicken hair.

    Folk Remedies

You could try a few drops of rosemary oil and sweet almond oil mixed together

    1 teaspoon Sweet Almond Oil
    10 drops of Rosemary Oil
    Cotton Balls

Dap receeding area with cotton ball dipped in the oil mixture 3X a day.

Weight does have a factor in pulling hair from the front and middle. Try pinning/tying up your dreads. Covering the receeding area will inhibit the flow of air to your scalp and will progress the hair loss.

Dead cells also build up on the scalp and block hair folical production. You need something to help stimulate the scalp. Rosemary will stimulate blood flow to the scalp.

There is also another remedy I know but it is rarely used bc of the smell.

It's an Onion Soup type treatment.

    1 Yellow Onion
    1 Cup Water
    Cotton Balls

Place Onion is a sauce pan with 1 C. Water. Bring to a Boil and turn down heat to a simmer. Simmer for 20 minutes ( add water if needed).
    Cool and strain liquid.

Soak Cotton Ball in liquid and dap on affected area 3 X a day.

Anyway, it is a chemical designed to f*ck with your body, so there is a personal ethic involved; The natural ethic thing means little to me though, as i'm about as natural as processed food.
