Yep. Woke up on Tuesday and said..."I'm brushin." Took 14 hours but they're gone. Other than having super thin hair, I'm pretty happy with the decision. When I do it again, I'm just lettin them go natural. But for at least the next 3 years, I'll have straight hair. :gorgeous: R.I.P dreadlocks. 6/26/10-10/25/11
Well as long as you're happy with the decision. GL with growing your hair back out... I had my last set for 8 months, brushed, and it took about 1.5 years before my hair was thick again. Also how was your dreads not natural? Wax?
lol, yeah it's gonna' suck growing my hair back out. BUT, I've done it before and luckily I can curl it and make it appear to have more volume. I guess I should say I would like to go neglect next time (IF there is a next time ) No wax, but I backcombed. To me, that's not natural.
Why did I always assume you were blonde? Never say a pic of you with dreads, but you dont look very hippy now, do you feel like a sell out? You look a bit like Uma thurman in that pic
Aww, thanks Moe Wam, I honestly have no idea. I just woke up and decided I missed being able to braid my hair, curl it, and be super girly with it, lol. VG, theres pics in my dreadlock journey album. As for feeling like a sellout, no, lol. At least now tho I dont get asked for weed
As for the Uma Thurman thing, I actually hear that alot :/ I guess there are worse celebrities to look like.
man it must have been a bitch getting those knots out. When I got rid of mine, I just chopped them about 2 inches from the scalp and combed them out from there....I couldn't imagine doing it from as long as you did....
Haha, yeah, I guess that's true Duck! Lol O.W.L, it. Was. TERRIBLE!!! I had my gramma and my husband help me but OUCH!! My dreads came down to just past my shoulders and now my hair is almost to my bellybutton when it's straight. Unfortunately, it's only like 5 hairs, haha! I'm gonna need a haircut but damnit, this is the longest my hair has EVER been, even if it is only 5 hairs, lol. Thanks for the compliments guys!
oh no I liked your dreads I brushed mine like 2 weeks ago, also freaked out about how little and thin it was, but after some intensive hydration and nutritive treatments it looks better than it did before dreads
