My 30 pound dog ate a firecracker with about half a g in it. I had to leave for work and when i got back she was lying on a chair with a pile of puke right in front of her and instead of jumping up and getting excited when I came in she just looked at me for a second and went back to sleep, which if you knew my dog you would realize is very odd behavior for her. She slept it off and she was fine, but I don't think she enjoyed it at all. As for the chocolate thing, it can be bad but they have to eat a good bit. My dogs gotten into chocolatey foods a few times and shes always fine, sometimes she throws it up.
My dog ate one of those Hershey's kisses they sell at Valentine's. You know, the humongous ones that take days to go through? Yeah, all that was left was the foil and a big chocolate streak on my carpet. She died. ...Of unrelated cancer years later. I think chocolate is poisonous to maybe some or perhaps even most dogs, but mine was okay. And I had a friend whose dog ate a goddamned ridiculous amount of weed (bag started off about a QP, ended up at about half an ounce left in the bag and random bits here and there in her carpet) and he just spent the whole day sleeping and eating like a motherfucker. He's still very much alive about 6 years later. So...your dog is okay, right? lol
chocolate will mess a dog up if they eat too much, i believe...my dog has eaten some off the counter before. she was okay. raisins and grapes on the other hand will kill them quickly.
Yep, I was more worried about the chocolate. Well he was totaly wiped out. . 1-2hrs later he got far away look and couldnt move. We had to carry him around to better resting places. My wife thought he was scared but he was just really stoned. after 6-7 hrs he started comming around and could finally take a drink of water. Hes a Pure Rat Terrier and Next Morning he was up and around barking at the neighbors and business as usual. But Our communication has deepened. He does have somekind of recollection and I can tell is the better for it.
Glad you're dog was ok, but it probably would have died if it had eaten good chocolate. Hershey's is like wax lol. I'm biased though..my father is Swiss born. I heard a story somewhere about a dog that ate like a half ounce of weed (not an edible, just a bag of weed) and it just moped around for a couple of hours, lost control of its bladder in this time and was just dripping piss around the house. Recovered fine after a long nap though.
my dog has gotten ahold of chocolate and is fine.. we try to keep ALL people food away from the dog. It doesn't always work though.. my dog is such a bitch! my dog eats some fucked up shit.. moldy bread from the neighbor's yard, fabric of all types, anything she can get ahold of. glad she's ok
