Pink Floyd...

I know everyone has their own preferences for what they listen to when stoned and all that, buuut

I smoked a good deal over the past couple days and last night we sparked on the ride home from a Dark Star Orchestra (Dead cover band) concert to add to our high listening to Atom Heart Mother and it was seriously fucking with me... I love getting lost in Darkside and The Wall is awsome, but I had never heard Atom stoned before and it was insane.

So if you're really stoned and want to lose your mind, listen to Atom Heart Mother!

oh my , i am listening to atom heart mother right now!!! Its quickly becoming my favorite pink floyd album.

 

Try the song Echoes by Pink Flyod, there are a few sounds and sections in Atom Heart Mother that reapear in Echoes. And Echoes was written to be played at the end of 2001: A Space Oddesy, so try syncing the two up, its worth it.

 

i can only listen to most of floyd stuff when im stoned
otherwise i find it boring often

lol me and my firends were listening to darkside on vinyl, stoned of course, and it was awesome, but we were like 'hmm.. i wonder how sober people can listen to this..'
and we went and gor teh record, and i picked up teh needle and moved it to a random spot.. then did it again, and did it about 5 more times, and each spot we put the needle on.. the exact same key, instruments, and very similar chords were playing. the trend was changed when we went to money, caus thats a bit of a differnet one (one i listen to sober)

we laughed for a while about that.

i think theyre awesome, but i recon theyre overrated when im sober

i mean, theres nothing wrong with a band that sounds awesome when on drugs.. i think that makes them even better, to have music that makes me orgasm when really stoned but grunt when im sober

Anyways, pretty much any music is better when you're stoned. Unless it's really dumb stuff like teen pop or something. But I still love Pink Floyd any time.

 

Awsome call, Turn, I have that song on my computer... just started it when I remembered I had it (reading your post). I'll come out here and say that I'm pretty stoned right now... Typing is a bit chalenging and such, but I'm listening to echoes now and its insane! Pink Floyd is amazing =D

Meddle was released in 1971, 2001 A Space Oddesy was written as a screen play in 1965 and made in 1967.

 

I think Turn meant it was written to synch up, like Darkside and the Wizard of Oz (from what I hear, never tried it myself) that Floyd did after the movie was made, not as in actual music for the film.

Tool is pretty sweet too when high.

 

hello, i like pot. I have a really cool set up, I have this program called rhapsody that streams any pink floyd song I want and then I download the stream with a program called replay music. just to let you all know, its fucking cool.

Anyway, i usually listen to .... wow fuck i just put on obscured by clouds... im trippin, good stuff, i usually listen to the wall, and thats about it.... god damn this music kicks ass. Anyway, yea, seeya later.
