Yes ladies and gentlemen I am tearing out my own carpet in my new house, but to my surprise there is sum ancient looking ceramic tile under it that I also have to take out. Looks like I'm going to have fun with this one. Once my energy drink kicks in I will take pics. Afterwards I am also going to install my own flooring. I bought some vinyl planking along with the floor adhesive, wish me luck everyone.
I wish you luck . I guess you like vinyl boards over old tile or old carpet. Once your down to the bare floor you might want on top of that bare floor what ever that vinyl needs . Topping compounding , or what ever . Not my field of experitce , just a sugestion . desert rat
Yeah, you really are going to have to tear out that tile before you put in the Vinyl. Ceramic sucks because it doesn't break apart in one piece, but if You've got a big hammer and a crow bar, you can make pretty quick work of it. Good luck! Drink a couple beers tonight.
The I only have 2 bedrooms left to do then I can start with the vinyl. The tile wasn't so bad because it was super freaking old and it ended up being some cheap ass slate instead. I'm so damn proud of myself! I just saved hundreds of dollars...and no I didn't switch to Geico for all you smart asses out there that were thinking the same thing I was when I just typed that, lmao. I've had too many energy drinks and I'm rambling.
I dont think you care about that tile . Get some friends , lots of beer and some 14 pound sledge hammers . Tell the friends the tile must go . Oh and you will need a wheel barrow and some shovels , for after . desert rat
Well I gave my friends lots of weed and coffee and it worked out great! I even got some built up frustration out on that ugly ass floor.
