I'm looking to try something new, around December-ish. I will give you a little history, and my beliefs, so you guys may be able to help my decision if you choose First off, what I'm looking for is your opinion on what Psychedelic I should try first. Acid, along with Mushrooms are obtainable for me. Peyote is not. I'm open to suggestions for others, but I'm not positive if I'm able to get it. So just assume if it's difficult for you together, it will be a lot harder for me to. My age is fairly young, I am still in high school. I know, I will get the "You're too young" and all that. I appreciate your concern, but I feel I am mature enough to make a big decision like this. I'm not expecting a life changing experience, but I would sure like one Anyways, my friendships with most people are starting to fade, and I can feel myself becoming more lonely. I don't exactly have motivation for a lot of things, and that's a big thing I want to change. I can be very condescending to people, and I'm starting to pick up a "I don't give a fuck" attitude. Also, I have had small depression at random times, but nothing too serious. I would like something that may be able to help with one, a few, if not all these things. I feel my drug history, and views on drugs is important so I will list it. My drug history/Experiences (In descending chronological order); 1. Nicotine/Tobacco: To me it is very on and off. I love the buzz of a nice Cigar, or Tobacco chew. At times, I will get queasy off Cigarettes, but I also can enjoy the buzz at times. 2. Marijuana: My drug of choice. I love Marijuana and lately have been a heavy user, but as of now I am taking a few month tolerance break. I love the euphoria, and feeling of where I am at the moment, is the only thing that matters. The only downside is I can lose my motivation to do well in school and such. 3. Alcohol: I also love Alcohol. I have yet to date had a bad experience with it, and have never had a hangover (?). I have only had the 'spins' once, and still loved it. I drink rarely, but I absolutely love the carelessness of it. 4. DXM: I honestly have not had enough experiences, nor taken enough too say a whole lot about this. From what I remember, I felt more buzzed, like if I had a beer. And a little euphoric if that. One time, I did have a bit more then normal, but was under the influence of Marijuana. Everything was just, weird. Nothing special. 5. Hydrocodone/Vicodin: I hardly feel Hydrocodone. One time I felt it hard, from snorting it. But I always am disappointed. 6. Ecstasy: I have done this once. And I was disappointed about not feeling, the average story of everyone who says how hard they were rolling. I was with a friend though, and really opened up to him. But overall it was an alright experience. I really enjoyed the feeling of confidence, and was able to say whatever. 7.. Xanax: I have an easy supply of this, so I have tried it quite a bit recently. Again, always disappointed. I had one good experience, the first time I did it, and only felt super drunk. But the next day, I felt really confident about things, and everything was so simple (?), I LOVED that feeling. 8. DPH/ Benadryl: I tried this very recently, and only had around 150mg. I felt it very instantly and kind of enjoyed the feeling. Nothing too mind blowing, but I was imagining crazy things. And I did enjoy that very much so. But I did feel very uncomfortable. So, based on these experiences I feel I would like to try a Hallucinogenic. I really want to just have a mind bending moment. I'm not scared of a bad trip, in a weird way, I wouldn't mind one. Overall, what do you guys think would suit me best? (DMT, Shrooms, LSD, Etc) Thanks for the help
Each one brings it's own benefits and costs to the table, and really each one has its own lessons to offer. My real answer to you is to try them all! Why would you do acid and not mushrooms, or vice versa? They are quite different experiences. You sound ready for it, and your description of your state of mind sounds like 90% of teenagers I certainly was like that at times, and even these days. Just do your research well, read a lot of erowid.org and read some big and dandy bluelight threads on whichever substance you're going to dive into first. Note that none of those are anything like weed, alcohol, or even DXM/DPH, so it will be quite new for you. Good luck
You sound quite grounded and sincere, moreso than many new posters. I'll echo Writers words and add a bit... Shrooms and L are quite different, compared to each other but similar if they are compared to say pizza or marshmellos. Myself I would recommend L over shrooms for 2 reasons. One, for me L is the proto-typical granddaddy of psyches, there's nothing quite like it. Two, Lucy is quite a bit more reliable in effect and more navigable in experience. If you've done some reading I'm sure you know that strength and experience can vary widely, even in the same strain of shroom. There are many types out there but even within cubes, potency can be all over the place. I don't think I would have wanted my first psychedelic experience to be one of those melted-mind space ship trips on Mr Toads Wild Ride. Many people have first times on shrooms and have great experiences so, judge for yourself. Erowid and BL reading is a good place to read, shroomery has some good first time info as well. Hallucinogenic has become a dated word, entheogenic might be a better one. You come across as one that might appreciate the amazing properties of the psychedelic state beyond seeing pretty things. As for bad trips, I would say that many people feel that they can be just as enlightening as any other, however I would caution your laissez-faire thoughts about one. It is not hard to have a difficult trip, even possible to deliberately go that route. But it can go horribly wrong and not just be difficult for you but a nightmare for anyone that is exposed to you and forced to contain the situation. I beg of you to not take that lightly. Your openness, willingness even to have a bad experience will probably evaporate with a beautiful journey. I hope you give the possibility it's proper reverence and have a glorious time, when the time comes. Peace
Writer basically offered up the perfect reply! Psychedelics are just like a buffet; no reason not to explore (responsibly!) Personally between the "two kings/classics" (acid and mushrooms) I really couldn't advise one over the other, they're both amazing, try them both! As far as high school goes, I don't think that's too young an age (granted you exercise respect and moderation). Actually my view is quite the contrary, that is a really magical age to begin to experience new states of mind (again don't over due it man!); I'll never forget those years personally, and if you go about it right it only gets better as you mature! While it's easy to say in the situation I'm in (IE no kids and still have a lot of that initial curiousness about me) I would much rather my child responsibly explore psychedelics than alcohol or cigarettes...biggest piece of advice...don't EVER explore this realm to be "cool"...not sure how you kids are these days (haha I can say kids...wow time flies!) but I know in my time peeps thought was "cool" or "separating/mysterious to do" "drugs" (ugh such a generic term!), can't imagine much has changed. I personally started with mushrooms because I had ready access to them and not much more, but truthfully, despite what a lot of reports or users will claim, there is no "order" in which psyches are best taken...shit I still hold firm that DMT is a great beginners psychedelic...
My first Psychedelic trip was on DXM. I tried shrooms before but had little more than euphoria and slight visual disorientation. Either way, my DXM trips have been... The only word I can come up with is... overwhelming. But a good overwhelming. I EASILY reached the third or fourth plateau on every trip I've been on, and have only had one bad trip, and it wasn't even that bad. It's so spiritually opening if you do it right, it's crazy.
First off just note that psychedelics aren't like any of this substances. It is very enlightening so whether you want it or not, it will change your life in some way, whether for short term or long term. I personally have found an incredible zen of patience, as well as finding love. Not in an individual (yet) but for people in general. I've never really liked people, but since acid I have very much. Although I may disagree on ideology, I love people and their different ways of thinking the same thing. Being creative, it was the greatest thing I could ever have tried. I kind of feel like you'll try all 3 major psychedelics anyways.. So it shouldn't really matter which you do first. I'll say acid because it is known to have less physical side effects than shrooms. Nothing bad happens on shrooms, it's just you will become nasuiois on shrooms, so you may feel better on a clean hit of acid. Shrooms to some people is said to feel more natural though, so an outside trip on shrooms with a buddy could be fantastic! And if you do come across DMT, buy it. Even if you plan to take LSD or shrooms first. DMT is quite rare and hard to come by. It is also very unique. So save it, smoke it. But that is something wroth trying. DMT is over completely in an hour. acid will take 8-12 hours at least, and you will still feel weird for a couple of days. But you will have control while on it, and once your down even though you feel weird, your completely back to reality. Shrooms is in between and lasts for like 6ish hours depending on the dose. Try it whenever you want. High school isn't too young if you can be mature about it. Without offense thoug, psychedelics aren't a wreck less culture like weed or alcohol and bring. So it is something to respect and be mature about, so keep that in mind while doing it. Acid and shrooms can be somewhat recreational, but DMT is not at all. You will learn on these drugs, and one reason high school can be bad is you are going through a change as it is coming into the world, but it won't be bad. I think I feel you on the bad trip thing, I find weird stuff interesting, and bad stuff rewarding in knowledge. You'll get what you need. So unexpected the expected!
