I try. Sometimes though, I just don't have time for anything. Probably because I'm in 4 AP classes. Aaaaall the homework. But I always manage to stay stress-free, just not much time for hobbies and such anymore
Jeepers, Sunflower, you only get to be a kid once! (unless, of course, we do reincarnate after death ) I'm in a couple of honors classes, and one AP (art, haha), and I rarely do homework at home... Although, this year is making me do a little at home. But I always put fun first. The way I see it, you never know when you're gonna die- it could be tomorrow, so why waste your possible last day on Earth doing work? In other words, "Why do today what you can put off 'til tomorrow?"
Well some of the classes aren't so bad. Some of them are actually fun and i like doing the work for them. Not AP English though
Interesting to see so many people who like going barefoot and are horrified by schools that enforce uniforms and strict dress codes. I wonder what you'd make of New Zealand. Here most primary schools enforce a strict uniform right from the age of 5. The uniform varies from school to school but most have specific rules about what kind of shoes can be worn. Often they require speicific colours of roman sandals or black leather shoes. But almost all of them also allow the kids to be barefoot, to and from school, all day and everyday if they want. Many require kids who do wear shoes to school to take them off upon arrival to go into the classroom and then don't make them put them on for PE/recess/lunch or walking home. On any given day about 80-90% of primary school kids walk home barefoot. High school is different though. We still allow bare feet for PE and most sports, including running cross country, but in school roman sandals or black leather shoes with knee-socks are required for boys, stockings for girls. I'm a high school teacher at a public school and I have no interest in enforcing the uniform. What you need to remember about teachers enforcing school rules like uniform is that when some don't do it the others get upset at them for failing to enforce the rules. We have no say in what the uniform is, that's decided by our board of trustees. So it isn't the teachers being arbitrary authoritarians. I only enforce major uniform violations, not because I think the uniform is good, but because it isn't fair to the kids who are forced to follow the rules when another kid gets away with it for no consequences. Personally I think uniforms are stupid and no one should have to wear them.
OT but uniforms prevent or reduce trivial squabbles among school kids related to what clothes one person or another is wearing, or people stealing some poor kid's clothes, etc. Yeah I probably would have hated it when I was in school, but I see the benefit of them.
It's ok. As the year progresses, I find that everyone lets me do basically whatever I want and the teachers don't care because i'm pretty harmless
And here's proof of it again: bare feet tread gently... and since you convinced people, that it's perfectly harmless to be barefoot, you're safe to continue. Nice hearing of your barefoot success at school. Keep going and enjoy it. :sunny: Wiggling bare toes, encouragingly, ~*Ganesha*~
