Another thing I find interesting is that most of these dumbasses don't even realize that there really is no such things as purely demcratic, socialist, etc... Practically all have varying degrees of different systems. So at what point do they start complaining? When the talking heads tell them to.
Democrats in America tend to be so 'afraid' of actually asserting what views they hold compared to Republicans. I will give the Republicans a hell of a lot of credit for being shameless in professing their Strong Social and Economic Conservative beliefs. I WISH that the Democrats would not be so timid about their beliefs. That is why I wish there was a third party of Democratic Socialists who weren't afraid of telling people that they believe in an involved government, high but fair taxes, care for future generations even at the cost of the wealth of current people, etc. But too many Democrats are afraid of it. The biggest joke is that so many people in the Left in America (most being Centrists in reality though...) won't even call themselves Liberal or even Democrats. They are "Progressives." It is the most watered-down tag I can think of! Just say what the hell you believe in! The Far Right doesn't have a problem with it, so the Far Left better get used to it too in order to COMPETE with the Far Right and NOT have to revert to a pansy-ish Centrist position. But that's just my take...
Both parties support socialism. Big government is socialism. Sorry folks, it just is. If we had a "conservative" government as many on the left would appear to believe, government would be getting smaller instead of the other way around. People would be keeping -- not losing -- their rights. We wouldn't have Homeland Security, or the welfare state designed not to help people but rather keep them impoverished and dependent on the government. Under this system people's wealth is confiscated by the state, which uses that money to slowly gain more power and control. The system we have today combines capitalism, corporatism and socialism under one tent. The notion that socialism is about helping people is a myth. Democrats and Republicans are owned by the same banks and corporations. Arguing over their superficial differences is a waste of time and overall a complete distraction.
That is just your view though. I personally believe that BIG GOVERNMENT can work and would work just fine IF and only IF the government had serious oversight and instead of just throwing money at programs, they would actually spend some time getting to know the people they are helping. This means that BIG government also has to have a big LOCAL government component. That is one sticking point I believe is necessary for the USA to have any successful socialist program. Unlike some nations, there are just too many people for a FEDERAL-only welfare program to work. It needs to be run county to county not just in Washington DC. But I completely respect your views and don't wish to change them. I just wanted to refine what I meant by endorsing 'big government'.
socialism is half-ass. a pure marxist utopia is the only way the one world society will become a reality. the russian version failed because it was a diluted and corrupt communist dictatorship...the chinese will fail because they have become slaves to capitalism. only when you peace and love fools decide to put all your hateful words into action will this world change. you white boyz and girlz bitch and moan about the police and the rightist devil slavemasters and the capitalist pigs, and you make your little signs and have your little protests and nobody gives a shit because you have no teeth. they all laughin at you because they have nothing to fear from you. you just a bunch of hippies and all you can do is talk. i ain't suggesting that you do anything illegal. im just sayin that until you people are willing to put your asses on the line for what you believe in, they gonna continue to keep laughin at you. you gotta get it together. i don't care who you put in the whitehouse, because it don't mean jack. you gotta half black man in there now who aint done shit for you. you put a republican in there, he aint gonna do shit for you either. but at least with a republican you know you aint gonna get jack. thats the only difference, you see what im sayin? the system of legislative/executive/judiciary has too many checks and balances for any one president to be able to accomplish significant and radical change. it don't work boyz & girlz. radical change in any direction can not happen in this sytem without violence. im not advocating violence. but as an example you could not free the slaves without a war. it wasn't gonna happen peacefully because it was too radical a change for the system to handle. the system wasn't built for radical change.
