Back in about April, I had what I consider my first full blown, balls to the wall acid trip. Since then I've tripped a few more times and I freakin' love it (even when it's bad... kind of). I've never tripped alone, but I always seem to seperate myself from the group to search things on my own... and I always end up at the mirror. The most profound and insane shit always happens when I'm looking into the mirror and all the experiences are very similar but different. The first time I looked I don't know how long I was there for but my mind and all my senses seemed to align and rays of brilliant white light started to shoot out of my third eye region... and just as the light was about to completely fill my vision, and all my senses were coming into perfect alignment, I pulled back. Fear I guess... who knows.. but it was the most beautiful experience I've ever had. Second time round, a month or so later, I ended up there again. This time it was the same alignment of all my senses but there wasn't white light, instead it was as if my whole mind and being were sucked in to the vortex that was in my third eye region... and again, just before the pinnacle moment, I pulled back. I won't go into detail about the third time because it wasn't as strong, but it was a similar kind of thing with all my senses becoming aligned. I'm just looking to see if anyone has had any kind of similar experiences or if someone has any insight to shed on the whole thing. I feel as though I'm getting really close to something incredible... iv even started meditating to try and recreate the moments without acid (which is really difficult and long but a good thing I think) PEACE!!
i don't think you're getting close to anything incredible...you were just tripping man! i've had some crazy times in the mirror while tripping too. it's sorta common knowledge that tripping + mirror = craziness fist time i recall tripping in the mirror was on an eighth of some of the best shrooms i've had. i saw "all the sadness" in my eyes. that was my closest thing to a "bad" trip i've ever had. not just because of the mirror, and it had started to turn negative before the mirror another time i took a potent hit on a cruise to alaska. back on the cruise ship, i went to the pool, and after swimming for awhile i went into the bathroom to stare in the mirror. i guess you could say all my senses were aligning. it was bizzare. if i focused on one spot on my face (i think i picked between my eyes)...things would start to get intense. an orange glow started at the edge of my vision and slowly got brighter and brighter. it did feel like i was getting close to something. the longer i stared, the more intense it got. then someone else walked in and i had to pretend to be washing my hands i posted about this on here before, maybe in more detail. here it is: i stepped into the bathroom and looked into the mirror! i felt like it grabbed ahold of me. i should have locked the door, but i might have stayed in there forever. so i just stared at the reflection of my mouth. i picked one spot on my bottom lip and focused my attention there. the light in the room got darker, and took on a brighter orange color at the same time. "i" was so still in the mirror. i felt like if i moved, my reflection might stay still. or maybe i felt like if i stayed still long enough my reflection was gonna move. someone opened the door right behind me! (this was a small public bathroom, where the sink was separate from the toilet and urinal - the sink was right there when you opened the door)"turn on the water, act like you're washing your hands. dry.exit." (these are thoughts in quotes) can you elaborate on what you mean by "vortex in your third eye"?
I've looked in the mirror plenty of times and prefer to when tripping. For instance seeing your bodies timeline. Through increase of age seeing yourself in your baby's image slowly transforming into your old image, while feeling all the sensory sensations you would at those ages. It looked so real.
LOL. I'm gonna take a mirror to hang from a tree at the next fest I go to - along a pathway, a little something for the passers-by.
This! This is an amazing aspect of the mirror. Often your body will change according to your lifestyle or how you are feeling at that moment. When I was smoking a lot of pot I saw myself as an middle aged dude with long dreads and a beer belly. When I was having a lot of spiritual experiences from my earlier trips and doing yoga, I saw my saw/felt my body transform into a buddha like figure, skinny, shining, perfect posture. Also there are a lot of in between forms that just look like your normal self but older, maybe your facial hair will stand out. If you endured a very intense trip you might see yourself like a wild man, lioness, your bravery and strength shining through. If you in the weird thought part of the trip, you might see weird perceptions of yourself, maybe you look very straight and boring, or very cartoonish. Non time-dilating transformations are interesting too. You see your body in your present state, only your cheeks will be waving back and forth, or your head is stretching up and down, your eyes are spliting apart, morphing and waving similar to that video above. You might also see lights, auras, emanating from you. Maybe a halo or horns depending if your feeling heavenly or devilish. A lot of times when I look in the mirror now, I look as if I'm looking to see the reflection of my true self, as if I am looking into my soul. Usually a bright aural light starts radiating out, and then I close my eyes and I can still see part of my body and the mirror, but its like in behind the eyes light form. Then the form just dissapears I am left with as formless presence, just the pure being, which I just bask in for awhile, until I come back. Mirrors are perfect for seeing whatever is in your mind.
once while coming down from 2ce..i was convinced (after looking in the mirror) that one of my eyes was higher than the other on my face. i was getting pretty worried about it actually, until i decided "well, i must have always been this way. guess there's nothing i can do about it, except see if it looks normal in the morning. i'm not sure that it did
that video you posted porkstock was eerily similar to one of my trips lol, i stood in front of the mirror for what seems like hours making faces at myself, giddy and all lol. for real tho same trip but earlier i had to piss, went to the bathroom, glanced at the mirror and saw 'jesus' in the mirror haha. wierd.
I'm taking 3 hits tonight, I read this mirror thread a couple days ago and thought it looked interesting, so I'm totally gonna try it tonight. I'll get back to you!
Yeah, I got that mirror today - 16x16, blue frame. I fixed it to hang diagonally and on the frame wrote stuff like Love, Reality, Now, Be Not Afraid, Be Here Now, and so on and drew flowers and nebulae and magical symbols and so on. I'll hang it beside a path close to our campsite. We're going to have a trippy campsite with textiles hanging (like wood block prints of Om Mani... and flower/sun, and some Cambodian sarong fabrics) and mats and minds and minds and minds. I think it's gonna be a good psytrance campout.
the eyes are the windows to the soul and when I look in the mirror tripping I'm usually looking at my eyes.
I tried it, and immediately the first thought that came into my head was "I'm looking into the mirror, but were all there" I remember feeling one with everything, that were all this form of energy, I did start to see a third eye appear in my third eye region, but nothing really like you said, I didn't need to pull away, or anything... I just watched as my body changed shapes.
Thanks. Today I baked 4 batches of chocolate chip cookies (extra chocolate, extra toasted walnuts) to hand out the 1st day of the fest - help elevate the general vibe just a little.
As long as you guys remember rule #2 2) Don't try to pick that zit on your face. It probably isn't real. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=407549&f=117
Thanks pork gonna have nightmares now cause of that vid But yeah have always loved mirrors when tripping (shrooms) if you put two full length mirrors between you it is insane to experience, very fun!
i actually forgot i posted this because it didnt get any replies for a few days... awesome! Pork.. the vortex i described is like looking at a whirlpool from directly above and the more i concentrate, the more of my vision it takes up until my mind and evrything is being sucked in.. man acid is cool Thismoment.. what festival is it you're talking about? i hit burning man this year... best thing iv ever done And im definitely gonna be trying the full length double mirror thing. sounds freakin crazy! Much love to you all
Tis maybe my favourite thing to do when tripping indoors. Last trip me and two buddies turned out all the lights and each had a different coloured glow stick, manipulating them on our faces in the mirror. At one point one of the friends said, 'oh my god man I'm a flipping beast' and started barking into the mirror. A bit later on I managed to slowly rip the skin off my face, it was nuts.
I've also experienced what Chen did. It freaks a lot of people out, seeing themselves withering away. I just found it interesting. I recommend anyone that isn't easily scared to try it. It can be pretty cool. I also wanted to add that I've gotten 'the fear' before. It was the first time I really tripped. First time (and last time) I ever saw any truly crazy visuals. 2 spray paint marks on my garage floor (which was already a 'sloshy puddle' at this point) grew into spiral 'snakes' which then swirled past me in 3d. I had my eyes locked on a certain point in between them and once I started to get really deep down the rabbit hole I got kinda scared. I was thinking at the time 'well how far do I wanna go down this rabbit hole?' I attribute it to fear of the unknown. Also mixed in could be fears that maybe you 'won't be the same', you won't come back, or fear of brain damage maybe lol. Anyway, I broke my vision from that spot and literally turned around 180 and was struck with some of the most important personal revelations of my life. Sorry to get off on a tangent... thought that might be interesting to others. The connection between visuals/going 'down the rabbit hole' and life changing revelation.
