Please let me describe this nightmare i had been having over and over for the last 40 years.
It would always start the same, i would be out walking in fields or sitting in my home, in the fields i would see a pride of Lions and to get to wherever i was going i would need to get around the Lions.
I would hide behind trees or hedges but always one Lion a huge male with big mane would notice me and start to chase after me, i would be terrified, all the time running, trying to get up into a tree or something, and all this was in color, i know it is written that people do not dream in color well i do.
Now i would run and run, i would hide always just being able to see the Lion looking for me, it would sense me and again the chase was on, whenever it was about to catch me i would wake up terrified, sweating, the feeling of terror would haunt me all day long.

Now about my home, in this dream i would be sitting maybe watching the TV, and the door would always be open, a Lion the same one would walk in, i was so afraid, the chase would be on all through the house, it would have me sitting on top of doors, on small shelves just big enough for me to get on, on top of wardrobes, again terrified and again i would awake just before the Lion got to me, sweating and terrified i would awaken and again this intense feeling would stay all day.

Now remember i was having these dreams for nearly 40 years, and at least once a week, i dont know how i survived them, but obviously i did.
Anyway to cut a long story short, one evening whilst dreaming something different happened, whilst running in terror i could run no more, i stopped, turned to face the Lion, the Lion slowed down to a walk, it walked up to me stopped at my feet laid down in front of me, rolled onto its back, i knellet down and proceeded to rub its stomach.
I woke up, no sweat no terror, i felt good, after 40 years of terror in this very Lucid dream i was at peace, the dream has not returned and i am no longer afraid of Lions, where before i could not even look at one in the Zoo.

So if anyone has an interpretation please let me know.
    Thanks

Well you were scared of something and then you realised that it was nothing to be afraid of

Did you change anything in your life that might have caused the dream to resolve itself?

I think that to complete your recovery and overcome your fear of lions you should go to a zoo, climb into the cage, and punch a lion

According to Freud and his Psychoanalysis theory - "The interpretation of dreams is the royal road to a knowledge of the unconscious".

In few words, there are some psychological processes of which we're are unaware. I think it would be interesting for you to see what you were actually able to face in a counscious world.
