Hi, i am only young but for years now i have felt like i am a woman trapped in a mans body. All the time i cant help but feel jealous about the fact that girls get to be girls and i dont. There is absolutely nothin in the world that i would love more than to have full sexual reasignment surgery however i have no way to fund this. If anyone has any idea how i could raise the money please let me know, i would be willin to do anythin right now. i cant keep going like this, help me.
There is nothing wrong with you. TONS of people feel the same way. My advice, though, is to forget the surgery. You are in desperate need of some soul-searching. Look inside yourself. You are just fine the way you are. Surgery may make you appear to be a woman, but when it comes down to it- it doesn't actually change your sex. It just morphs you into a plastic gender-f-up.
TheSystemOrange is just ignorant. I would tell anybody suffering with genuine gender dysphoria to ignore his "advice".
gender "dysphoria" is understandable, but its sometimes like the situation of a fat person losing tons of weight and having all this flabby skin afterwards that'll permanently change how you look. and i think the op's age is pretty important too. and at the very least, do lots of soul-searching because its a big life-changing decision.
But, for all you know, the OP has already done a lot of soul searching. For many people, the feeling of being trapped in the wrong body starts at a very early age. If you have felt like a member of the opposite sex from an early age, and still feel that way as a teenager, The chances are extremely high that you will forever feel that way. I knew I was a girl from the age of 4, and have felt that way all through my life, and never deviated from feeling that way. For genuine sufferers of this condition, it is life long, and nothing can change that. You can hide it and deny it, certainly. But you will never stop feeling that way. Puberty also permanently changes how you look. And once that process has been gone through, the physical aspects of it are very hard, and sometimes impossible, to reverse. Telling someone who is trapped in the wrong body not to seek treatment and surgery, and to "stay how you are" is advice that goes against all the scientific and medical research into this condition. It just adds to the person's depression, and makes them feel even worse. It simply does not work. Going from the OP's username, my guess is that they are 16. If that is so, and they have felt female from a very early age, and never stopped feeling that way, then I dont think any more soul searching is needed. And getting treatment as soon as possible would be advisable. The effects of puberty, once fully gone through can never be fully reversed.
Thank you guys, as invisible soul said the effects of puberty can never be fully reversable, for that reason i want to under go surgery asap. I just dont feel comfortable in a males body. is there anywere i can go to get sponsored or get a loan of some sort?
For genuine sufferers of this condition, early treatment and intervention is vital if you want to have any realistic chance of being able to live a normal life as the gender you identify as. Bodily and facial hair growth, prominent jawline, heavier skull and bone structure, more prominent Adam's apple, increased muscle mass, broad shoulders and chest, and the voice breaking, are all effects of (and just some of the effects of) the male puberty. Most of these things cannot be reversed, and the small amount that can be, is usually very painful, expensive, and time consuming to put right. Also, on average, the adult male is taller than the adult female. This is also down to the increased production of testosterone during puberty due to the more aggressive skeletal growth. Taking oestrogen and testosterone blockers during puberty will make your body grow in a much more female manner. You will develop prominent hips and curves, instead of the straight body shape that results from the male puberty. It is certainly far more effective than taking them post puberty, when all of the damage has been done. The cold hard fact is, that most transsexuals who seek treatment post-puberty will just end up looking like drag queens/transvestites. Realistically, the best chance you have of looking like a normal female is stop those unwanted secondary male sex characteristics from developing in the first place. The huge difference is, that treatment pre puberty prevents the damage happening in the first place. Treatment post puberty is like sticking a plaster on a huge gaping wound. OP, it sounds like your problem is money, although the first thing you should do, is seek medical help. Depending on the help available in your area, you may be able to be prescribed testosterone blockers and female hormones if you can prove you are genuinely trapped in the wrong body.
I think that you are getting conflicting advice and some of it is not right for you. I am not a complete expert however I did change from male to female over 10 years ago so I do have some first hand experience. I will tell what I think you should do but but you must check out my advice with some who is more qualified to give you guidance. Also if you haven't done so yet check out many of the great free resources on the web. My first piece of advice is talk to an expert that is really important. My second piece of advice is put the thought of any surgery completely out of you mind as you will probably end up driving yourself mad. Take one step at a time you are still young you have plenty of time. If a specialist decides that it is right to start hormone treatment you would not be able to consider surgery for at least a couple of years. I hope this helps you a bit hon. Feel free to send me a pm if you would like to chat about it in some more depth. Lots of love Sarah x.
I believe that invisible soul is right - now is the time to make this change. Don't wait too long like I did. If money is the only thing holding you back, you will find a way to get it. I'm assuming that you are currently in a program? There are many resources out there to explore and some of them could help. so my advice to you is to get busy - leave no stone unturned and stop worrying as you don't have time to...You can make this happen.... Good Luck! Toni
