Never done it but I have wondered from those who have done it Has any of your beliefs played a role in what you see,i.e if your religious you see things related to it? Has any of your fears played a role in what you see i.e if you fear snakes or spiders, do you see them if you think about them or have that fear in your subsconscious? Or is the whole trip completely disconnected from what you believe or fear, its an experience that is totally unrelated?
Snakes are my worst fear. I dont see them or anything though thank god. Like i dont hallucinate about them. i do fear them though
Would you say then that this realm that people go to is completely ok to see, or does it provide fearful images? I mean I've heard of people freaking out on this, seeing their entire world collapse around them, seeing black holes and crap which certainly doesn't sound fun
I'm not sure it's possible to see anything that's not already in your brain. If you do, what is it? Where did it come from? How come you are seeing it with the drug and not before/after? I"m sure you can see some amazing things, but I'm not so sure that they are not simply seeing what you already know in a totally different light brought on by the drug.
I've done Salvia about 20 times, Salvia goes beyond belief. Beliefs and fears may play a small role but a strong trip provides images and feelings that are so bizarre it's difficult to associate them with any sense of self, let alone belief. The feeling of loss of control Salvia can produce is something I fear, which is why I explore it sparingly but the visual content often seems somewhat disconnected from my normal psyche.
I think the answer is yes. for some people these are the most important things in life. Maybe it wont affect the trip much if salvia really goes beyond these, but they play a huge role when you try and interpret the things you saw and experienced when you are sober. When you are salvia your mind goes brrruaawhaaaaaa but when you think back you think back based on your beliefs and fears. maybe you will think hmm that must be god. and im afraid to see his face again. you know i dont know if i will ever do high dose of salvia becouse im afraid i might stop existing. And i want to do that the human way. when im dieing in my bed with chemicals i make for myself in my brain. i dont know much about salvia but i can tell you if you are looking for religous experiences through drugs do mushrooms.
Very interesting. I wonder if the fear is associated more with Losing control than what a person is actually seeing. Images that are fearful Can you share what you have seen, i.e does the world around you disappear completely ( meaning you can see nothing of your surroundings and new ones appear?)
My first Salvia Breakthrough I saw a horse-ish type entity. I am not afraid of horses nor can I think of any particular reason that would cross my mind. It wasn't exactly a horse but that's the closest description I can give and it seemed as if it was surveying the fractal area that I was being integrated in. My last trip I saw this tree that had like orbs coming off it which I viewed as souls and it slots like a dresser.
I am actually a little more interested in this now. Do you loose all of your sense of awareness. Like if you did it in a dining room, would the table and chairs just.. disappear! Reform or what??
Spatial awareness is seriously impaired. I've seen people stumble into doors, roll off the couch, flop on their sitters, etc. As far as the visuals go, usually I can still kind of make out objects in the enviornment but I don't recognize the objects. For example, after the trip is over I could say something like 'Oh I saw the chair arms multiply into these colums of ancient Egyptian pillars' or something like that but while the trip is happening I usually don't realize i'm looking at a chair, kinda difficult to explain. On a few really strong trips I've not really recognized anything in my immeadiate area and many of my Salvia Divinorum journeys have been taken in the dark so I tend to have really minimal stimuli from the enviornment anyways. It comes on incredibly quick, and often I forget I smoked anything and don't really know where I am and then you sort of come to reality after about 5 minutes and it feels a bit like the onset of a mushroom trip for about another 10 minutes and then baseline after that.
^^Yeah don't worry about explaining it too much, I understand it's most likely beyond words. That sounds very interesting tho.. I'm really surprised based on the DEA's standards that this has any length of time being legal. haha. Maybe because it's not that long of an effect?? Who knows Is a sitter required for this tho? I don't know if any of my friends would accept me trying this...
I don't use a sitter these days when I smoke it, I did for my first several trips. I'd recommend a sitter and if you can't get one make sure your immeadiate surroundings are clear, like I'd be wary of shelves, lamps, all that kind of stuff. If you get a solid couple of hits it's going to come over you incredibly quick, and rapid, it's a type of immeadiate immersion you don't get from say like LSD or other oral psychedelics.
What you said interests me as i hear people saying they dont know they have smoked. But to know that you didnt know you had smoked anything, there must be a level of awareness still in place, surely? Do you find that its best to be in a less lit room than a room with light?
I often forget that I have smoked anything, but I am aware of and retain some of the experience. I would say the forgetting you smoked it bit might be similar to like a temporary amnesia. Yes in a dim lit room is preferable, but my most profound Salvia trip was outside up on a hill at the beginning of evening.
