I almost cut my hair off

Actually I did cut all of my hair off. Is it really that big of a deal? I was sick of being stereotyped and wanted to prove that looks mean nothing to a someone's personality.. I think

I like the journey of hair growth, it's fun

 

"Fail" is doing anything to suit anyone but oneself. If he is at peace with his appearance then the change merits a measure of respect I think. To me freedom works both ways- being free to dress a certain way or wear ones hair long must include the freedom to do otherwise. Investing any expectation in the appearance in anyone else to me is a major "fail".

I did the same thing a few months ago, partly because I was just too lazy to look after really long hair all the time and partly because people seemed to instantly make assumptions about me based purely on my appearence...which I really didnt like, even if the assumptions were probably true.
I've been enjoying the short hair, but will probably let it grow again once I've moved somewhere a little more open.

Honestly I think you look really good with short hair.

Perhaps it's the fact that int he first picture you're wearing skinny jeans....

There is nothing wrong with what you did. You realized that it is in YOUR best interest to have a short haircut. It might not be in the interest of someone else, but you decided it was best to cut it. I think your decision is fine and sticking with long hair just to try to 'look like a hippy' is just as 'bad' as cutting it off to 'not look like a hippy.' There is really nothing bad or good about it. It is just a haircut in the end!
