Quite a lot of people like this girl if you look at her youtube videos, unfortunately she's not very good at washing her hair.

How do you know she doesn't wash properly? I've seen some of her videos and don't remember her mentioning washing.

I seem to remember her talking about it somewhere, don't know if it was on youtube, or another forum, anyway you can see that they could do with being washed. I don't really care if she does or doesn't, they look kind of cool anyway, but they'd be a lot nicer (and healthier) if she did, imo.

 

how could you even be anywhere near someone that doesn't wash their hair. it's gonna stink eventually.

I'm trying to work out if I'm mixing her up with someone else or not. Don't think I am though. She says she doesn't wash them with soap, but it's not clear whether she uses water or baking soda or sth. Also she advocates the use of rubber bands:ack2:

*Edit ok I found out the answer myself, apparently she soaks her hair in water sometimes, just because it feels nice, (She has a blog with a dreadlocks faq in it). Other than that, she doesn't wash her hair.

 

I wash my hair with water, and it's clean. I find that unwashed hair has a certain smell, but it's not a bad smell. It's similar to the way a cat's fur smells. Her dreads don't look dirty, and they're gorgeous. But I'm not a fan of the rubber bands, and I do wonder when she says that she sometimes soaks her hair in water, how often that is.

I normally only wash my hair with water, and then every so often with either shampoo or baking soda. It always just smells like hair, so I don't think there's anything wrong with what she's doing.

 

Yeah, what she meant by she doesn't wash her hair, is that she doesn't wash it with soap. She said something one time about not putting the chemicals in detergents into the environment.
