This story isn't my own, but I felt it was important to share it and pass it on, to let others know that there are both men and women that are deeply concerned with the way women are demeaned and abused in both impoverished nations and domestically. One of our students, Lauren Dawson, went overseas to Cambodia on a summer study tour, and when she returned, was overcome with sadness at the blatant prostitution of young women and girls in the streets. When the opportunity to present a project for her social activism course came, she chose to focus on this and actually started a non-profit organization called She Shall Go Free to raise money and awareness to help pull these victims off the street by helping them with job training and education. We're so proud to see her work as it progresses, and hope to hear other people's stories about helping make positive changes in women's lives. I wanted to share her project with everyone, in the hopes that people would get involved, share, and become a part of a growing movement to end sexual abuse of women both internationally and on home soil. You can watch Lauren's 5 minute project video story and learn how to get involved at worldwidevisionaries.org/projects/8/ Thank you all for reading, and to Hip Forums for their support in heightening awareness and affecting social change through communication and education. -David Worldwide Visionaries
