People are crazy and stupid, i cannot understand it, this stupid fanatics... Hugs
Man,Pantera was only mtv friendly during the vulgar display/far beyond driven years.FBD was the ONLY metal lbum to ever debut at # 1,& of course, mtv ate it up.TRENDKILL was too dark & heavy for most people. After tht,rap & boy bands just took over dude.Mtv is only interested in what is profitable here & now.they could give a fuck less about what made em millions 10 years ago.I know around here,pantera/damageplan got more airplay within the last week than what they have in the last 15 years.A news-worthy tragedy all of a sudden pointed out how many fans there are(even tho we knew all along)I'ts all money man..one of the baddest guitar playin muthafuckers ever gets killed, and it's marketed out the ass..says a lot for our society, dont it?
Not only does rap make more money for mtv than metal does, but rappers such as Tupac and Biggie were also way more popular than Pantera ever was. And I doubt its a black thing. If Eminem were to get killed, you'd never hear the end of it..
Well, but that's a vicious circle as it is said here, rappers are more popular because they're more on TV than metal bands, if you filled the TV with metal be sure that metal would be much more popular, but who's interested in popularity?
MTV blows goats. I am not a Pantera fan in the least but what a senseless death. And on the anniversary of the slaying of John Lenon. Sad sad sad.
