Alright, I guess I'll keep the soil moist, but they're still so small, I'll take it easy on them...

if they are that small then I definetly would not let them go dormant until they are a little bigger... cannibsoul will be able to correct me if I'm wrong, but depending on how small they are, they may not be big enough to conserve water yet. You might end up with dried out, dead cacti by the end of winter...

That's a really good point, I guess I didn't really think about what it takes to go dormant. They're right in front of a heating vent in my house, so hopefully that will keep them warm enough, keep them going this whole winter.

Yeah when they are this young I would suggest you don't stop watering them right away.

Definitely cut down since there will be less sun and heat available to them. Water won't evaporate so fast and they won't be growing as fast as they do in summer so they don't need as much water as they do during the growing season, but they do still need some water.

Top soil keeps drying out, feels like dust to the touch. So I've giving them a mist almost daily, not an excess amount to give them wet feet, just the soil dries out so fast without the plastic on it anymore gotta keep them moist.
