I think you should write a story about him! It would be a great token of remembrance. And always remember to celebrate his life and the wonderful pet you were fortunate to have
Keenman, I surely do appreciate your your thoughts and kind words. I'm about to believe that it wasn't me getting that pic for my sig that brought this on...but you know, the mind is a strange thing, and can get all kinds of twisted things working in it. So, I am pretty grateful for y'all basically telling me that putting him in the sig DID NOT cause this. Billy, those are beautiful thoughts...I am probably delusional, but I feel his presence and that he doesn't want me to be heart-broken.
Thanks Rolling and Foxglove! appreciate it And lovely, I've actually already written most of a story! Perhaps I'll even be inspired to do something with it.
Oooh my darling! I am so very sorry for your loss! Know that your little one is in a better place and happy and warm and safe where that may be. My thoughts are with you!<3 Much much much love!
awww, thank you, LittleKitty, for your sweet thoughts and love. I believe Gray Socks would approve what you said.
Lynn , i hope your feeling better today . Every day will get a little better . I have one cat that's 15 years old now . It's SO hard when they leave our lives . But their wonderful memories and personalities , carry one with us forever . And that makes it so worth the pain . Like the old saying goes I'd rather have loved and lost , then to have never loved at all . Thank GOD , he eventually lets us forget pain , but never good memories . My vet gave me this poem , when I had to put my dog down . You may have heard it before , but I think it's a good read for the occasion . Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...
Very sorry for your loss, thats one of the toughest parts of having a furry friend. At least you got to be part of Grey socks life and will carry his memory with you forever.
Add my condolences to the pile, Lynn. Cats, although they have reputations as loners, can be pack animals, like canines. I'm sure Gray Socks' passing sent a ripple throughout the rest of the Brown pack. But they'll adjust to his absence, as will you, in time. I know the hole the loss of a beloved pet can leave. Writing his story can help heal. Bless you.
