Well everyone is free to ignore anything they want.

Just like you ignored my response to repeat the same line about diets again.

5th meal: tuna in tomato sauce, whole grain pita, lettuce and baby carrots. To drink, water with a dash of lemon juice! :D

Unfortunately, I procrastinated a bit and let myself stay hungry for longer than I wished. See, how things go tomorrow that is a work day.

Should probably take food to work.

I didn't interpret the aim to be weight loss... I do agree that diets are hardly a one size fits all proposition though. My opinion- based partly on my own experience, as well as some reading is that more, smaller meals are handled better by the human body... whether or not there's a weight issue.

I`m not on a diet. I naturally gravitate toward less doughy, fatty, and spicy foods ever since I started working out daily (which, I also do out of pleasure; I`m already very lean).

I`m experimenting with small meals because I don`t have the appetite for larger meals and they make me tired.

Edit: And, because it seems they are practical to prepare.

    Edit2: Tangerine for dessert.

I have the capacity for big meals but I find that digesting them often leaves me spent... after dinner naps and such. So much energy being diverted to digestion that I have little energy for much else.

I was dealing directly with your post, which was entirely made up of statements telling me what I should eat. I use the word "diet" very loosely - everyone has a diet, really, as long as they decide what they eat.

BTW, any meal that`s easy to prepare and keeps well in a backpack to take to work? Beyond just a snack?

I use those little cans of flavoured tuna as meals. I think they are only 100g, tuna with lemon pepper, basil, tomato and onion etc.

low fat, omega 3, and they fill you up, and you dont get fat

Basically I think lots of fish if you want to diet, and us westerners should be eating more fish oil.

But any kind of diet, cant be boring food, or food that doesnt fill you up otherwise then its too much about will power and thus too hard

Why not just try the eating when you're hungry thing. Our bodies don't need to be scheduled. Nature is smarter than us.

Perhaps buy some pyrex bowls and cook food for the entire week and store all of it in the fridge and eat it across the week. This way you get that out of the way and you'll have more time for other things.

Perhaps buy some whole grains like pre-cooked wheat flour (couscous), quinoa (it's a complete protein vegetable/grain very healthy and can be eaten hot or cold), plain ole' oats; any other whole grain you may enjoy. Look up recipes and cook a huge portion and store in fridge. Thing with oats is you can eat it raw so you could put some with almond milk (unsweetened) berries, flax seeds and put it in a blender (vitamix is a good investment) and consume, plus stevia extract to make it sweeter if you want. Healthy small meal full of protein and essential carbs. Do the same for veggies just drink it all up.

Do the same for all the protein stuffs you want.

My fav is vegetarian chili and eating it across the week.

Tons of leafy greens, make lots of salads and store in fridge. Same for red lentil soup. It's so simple

You're missing out on fats. Seriously, they're an essential part of the healthy diet. I make sure to have a substantial amount with every meal - maybe some cream or oil in broth if there's not enough in the meal.

idk flax seeds are high in fat, and whenever i cook couscous which is pretty often, i put a lot of olive oil on it.

i eat good fat. nuts, seeds, olive oil, peanut butter, eggs

True, carbs can convert to fats but it still isn't enough - good point

I forgot to add in cheese and oils. I always put a healthful amount of different kinds of cheeses and olive oil (not extra virgin it makes me nauseated for some reason) in my salad (as well as red kidney beans and chick peas which includes fats).

Without fat, your brain gets less insulation and thinking can get fuzzy

Also, yeah, flax seeds have good fats like omega 3 and 6 - Hemp I think has a rare kind of fat that's essential but not everyone likes it. Trick to eating healthy is eating healthy foods that taste good to you and satisfies otherwise you'd just end up returning to the junk food.

Back when I paid attention to that shit (and when I eventually start paying attention again), I did the "eat a small meal every three hours" thing coupled with net calorie restriction. It was easier not to eat a whole cow by myself if I knew I was going to be eating again three short hours later, plus it supposedly keeps your metabolism going and helps you overcome plateaus. Working out every day or every other day meant I could eat more to meet a net calorie goal. I used an online calorie calculator so I didn't have to count them myself. All I had to do was enter the foods I ate and it kept track for me. I lost like 13 pounds that way (kept most of 'em off, too! lol), so when I'm ready, I'll definitely be going back to that. I just went through some major life changes, though, so decided to lay off of it for a while. Stress makes it really hard for me to stay disciplined.

    Good luck! :)
