I most want people to stop hating each other and realise we're all the same and we're all equal man. I fall into that hate trap sometimes due to my upbringing but I hope one day we'll all be able to get the goddamn yoke off our shoulders and walk free

I don't want to change the world and I don't want the world to change me. I'm not a hippie but I actually care most about love and understanding :D

Hippy Issues I Care About (although not all hippies care about):

    1. Ending wars and nationalistic violence.
    2. Shifting from free market capitalism to a Socialist Democratic structure.
    3. SOME environmental issues (pollution decrease, gov't subsidies end for oil, more for clean energy)
    4. Decriminalization of drugs (safe injection sites, legalize Cannabis, etc.)
    5. The Golden Rule: Treat other people like you want to be treated.
    6. End of religious divide (acceptance of anyone regardless if they are Jews, Atheists, or whatever).
    7. Being conscious of "Afluenza" (keeping up with the Jones' = Bad Idea)
    8. Acceptance of the mentally ill or other 'hidden' disabilities (stop calling things 'schized-out' for one would be nice- I get sick when people say that).

Common Hippy Causes I Don't Support:

    1. RADICAL environmentalism (I don't believe we need to abruptly cease all carbon emissions- that would cause massive problems in society- wait until clean energy subsidies pay off)
    2. RADICAL animal-rights (I believe strongly in animal drug testing for the increase of understanding of the way drugs interact with the brain).
    3. Communes (I think everyone deserves their personal space- not all of us are extroverts and living Communally would be horrible to us).
    4. Looking Different (I don't think that we need to dress different than anyone else or look different to change the world- I personally like dressing in business-attire and don't find my choice to negatively impact my ability to fight for a good cause.
    5. Public Transit (I don't think people should have to be looked at as 'pigs' if they drive cars- some- like me- hate being stuffed together with other people and being shuffled around at the MERCY of a public transit system- I will keep my car, albeit a very fuel efficient one).

I care about sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll.
I care a whole lot about Sex, I quit doing drugs a long long time ago, but you can do as you choose. And I totally only love 60's acid rock 'n' roll. I'm all about Love. And totally for peace of every kind. And believe that Real freedom is everything and the only way to be. Like no rules. Except for maybe, "Be kind. Rewind." And. "Don't stare at the Sun." :daisy:

Our lives should be full, and real, and on.

I care. And I want to help to free everyone.

    Njoy. :sunny:

The Quakers call it shunning. If you are a pain in the ass then nobody will hang out with you. You're shunned by all.

Make sense? If seems to have worked for them for more that 200 years.

For me it is to live a simple and productive life, not to offensively harm others, to respect the land and environment that we currently inhabit, to encourage educational and not destructive development, to reach for the stars in order to evolve, to have such conviction of conscience that one attains a clarity of mind and contentment of body.
To be hospitable and seek the same in others, to be patient and have faith in the future of youth
    (for a start)
    :)

nice one tibby. they always are, just spineless bullies. as someone who works with young adults with special needs i'm well aware of how vunerable they can be in the wrong hands. an just like you have no problem kickin' ass to protect them. people that take the wrong advantage of people with special needs in my book are the lowest of the low. not on my watch ! ya tibby, ya have a friend for life there an so has he. and you definitely deserve ta be his best man on his wedding day. if all people were as caring and real and beautiful as people with special needs the world would be a lot better place for everyone.:2thumbsup:

I care about fairness. If you are doing something that is unsustainable, you are taking more than your fair share. Which means that I care about sustainability too.

    Great thread.
Justice for everybody. A world free of prejudice borne of ignorance. Unity.
