    What kind of light should my mother plants be under?

    a single? 400Watt would be fine for a single mom.

    Mother plants need much less light than those being grown for production. Low light levels will cause the plant to stretch, which is not a bad thing for mother plants IMHO.

    As long as you place rooted cuttings into proper light levels they do fine regardless of the mother's light level.

    true that.. stretching leads to some long thin stems perfect for cloning..
    clone with 24hrs light, high intensity but a good distance from lamps burning rays..
