I've always worried about people reading what I post online. After my ex-husband and I split, I found out he was reading everything I posted and saving things he thought he could use against me, so I changed my user name. I don't know how, but he found out that one too. Someone (probably the ex) taught my mom how to Google me and sent her things about me that they knew would upset her. She is now reading everything she can find that I post online so that she can use everything I say to show everyone what a horrible person I am. I am beyond caring at this point. I'm not changing all my usernames again. If they want to think bad things about me because I'm different, I don't care. I'm doing nothing wrong, illegal, or harmful. So screw them all.

So, you're saying she should be a rat and snitch on family ? I understand that it's a shitty situation, but snitching should never be an option. That's also why I have a bare minimum amount of personal info on Face Book, nothing that isn't work and family friendly, and do all of my real on-line poasting anonymously.
I'm not saying to snitch on her family. I'm saying if things get out of hand and she can't get out of the situation and it turns into a big threat, then she could report it, too, if it got down to the bare minimum. She has the right to privacy, but anything posted for the public or easy to access through the public shouldn't have anything to lead to guilt anyway. Wasn't trying to make it sound like she should go tell people immediately, only if the situation got truly threatening.

make sure you dont have keyloggers or such on your computer, get upto date anti-virus and do regular scans etc etc, your online privacy is very important and any breaches of this can be a criminal offence, they sound like real ass holes and tbh its best to just ignore it, like you said you have nothing to be worried about anyway, get wise with your computer though, trust me
when you sign up for sites that you dont want friends or family to see you on use a different email address for the registration.i have 2 emails i use for registering on sites.this way nobody can google my email to see where i go and if the site like to spam you it goes to an email you check maybe once a year.
