would labeling yourself straight or whatever realy make any difference? would getting to choose your sexuality make your life any easier?
I've thought about this a lot, but to be honest, I don't think it makes much sense. I can't imagine becoming straight from this point on; I'm just too used to being attracted to my own gender, and have no idea what difference it would make to be a hetero. I suspect I'd just find other things to whine about. If it's a question of being born hetero or homo, I can't really say I would want to be a homo, but again, it's not something that I'm particularly upset about either. So I guess I might. In my current mindset, I'd rather have been born a girl though, not because I feel like a girl, but because, on the most basic level, I could probably get laid more I think I'd rather have been born bi though. Bi sounds like fun.
I was straight as recently as last weekend, banging a girl in one of my classes. The first woman I've had sex with in about three years. Still, I so wildy prefer men that it becomes a moot point. There're more than enough straight people in the world to breed the next generation of human beings, so why bother?
yeah i wouldnt be straight if i got the choice. despite the fact there'd be more people to root... it doesnt make a difference. its just a matter of preference, essentially. though, like someone else said, i'd probably choose to be bi coz it sounds more fun and more mature/open minded.
I love being bi, and why wouldn't I? I think I'm a little more gay than I am straight, but I'm not grossed out by a penis at all, I just prefer girls I guess.
The only reasons why I would want to be born straight have to do with discrimination issues or the acceptance of my family. Less stress that way. Other than that, I can't think of any reason why one would care either way. Question to those who are 100% gay or straight. IF you could choose, would you be bisexual? If not, why not?
Its from the Tao Te Ching, sort of like the equivalent of The Bible only for Tao. Actually, I don't think thats the best analogy, because it doesn't really account a story, but its quite poetic and each verse is full of wisdom that I think all of us could really learn from. Its a good read, I recommend it.
I'm 100% gay (for the sake of argument; I've always said that if I meet a woman who looks and sounds and acts like an attractive man I'll be converted), and on a strictly ideological basis I would be bisexual. It just makes so much more sense than worrying about orientation; if everyone in the world was bisexual, it would not be a case of orientation, the only deciding factor would be "are we attracted to each other?" So yeah, ideologically I'd be bi, but in all honesty, I can't imagine being attracted to women. I just don't see the appeal.
Cool. i'm kind of intrigued by Taoism, it's one of the few religions that I know pretty much nothing about.
Taosim freaks me out -- it's worldview is very much like modern physics, but it's from Ancient China -- what gives?! Confucious and Lao Tsu Thought of things that weren't proven until Einstein? That's a little creepy for my liking...
Actually, Einstein didn't really prove much. He seems to be right, but it's all just theories. But yeah, it sounds interesting.
I went through a fundamentalist stage some years back and attempted to become heterosexual. Needless to say, it didn't work. Once upon a time, I would have said "yes" to the question. Now, my position is "as if....."
