It is better to be okay at a lot of things, or really good at one thing?

It is better to make things happen,,,,or let things happen?

personally, I'm a jackass of all trades.

and if I don't get up and do shit, nobody else will.

as long as you feel like you're doing better than everyone else, that's all that counts.

what anybody else is doing ain't got jack to do with it either. if you're able to be doing things you enjoy doing, and without screwing anything up for anyone else. that's what counts.

the only thing that matters about what anyone else is doing is for them not to be screwing everything up for everyone else either.

and usually the best and often only thing we can do about that is try to set a better example. that and ranting about it on places like here.

Multi-skilling spreads the quality of singular focus too thin for me :(
    >
I reckon both, it's a matter of consideration - some thimes when in doubt, doing the wrong thing can have dire consequences
    (helpful eh?) :)

In the sick world we live in it tends to be advantageous to be super-good at one thing. I found that out the hard way starting graduate school in Mathematics.

I love math, but I also love (and am very good at) playing music, hiking, traveling, socializing, etc. And few if any of my classmates have any non-Mathematics interests. Guess what? I have a grade of D in one class and F in the other (despite working as hard as I possibly can) and the other kids have A's and B's. It is simply that they can devote 100% of their time to Math, where as doing that makes me go insane. I need the variety of my other hobbies that I am good at doing.

I think its better to just let things happen, most of the time. Because when you go screwing around attempting to change the outcome of things you could really mess something up. Evrything happens the way it does for a reason. But then again you dont want to go your whole life always thinking "what if i had done that..."

Many things, but it's important to be particularly good at one or more.

Make things happen, definitely. Otherwise, not much will.
