Is is without doute that I could travel much further and much faster if I had a passport.

But it has not stopped me. You have to be smart and not afraid of difficult problems and you need to be ready to be alone for long times.

But if you are willing to walk and paddle a canoe there are no borders. In some areas it is better to be a woman than man. Because I can smile and people stop being hostile to a stranger.

That's pretty cool. I was just explaining to the husband the other day about my own upbringing, living in tiny houses with upwards of 10-12 people at a time, living with outhouses, no electricity, things like that. I shared a bed until I was almost in high school. We have no car, and one would be surprised how much of a "crime" people seem to make that simple act out of be. No cable as well. I was raised without the internet for most of my life or a computer. I've always opened any place that I lived to people who needed it, and I've always been open to the idea of communal living.
I appreciate you responding. I do. I know some people say why they want to do something, but then they don't. I suppose in the end, it all comes down to either doing it or not. I don't think we need to make excuses on either side.

OP, it sounds like you have no ambition.

all that hippy shit is great and all, but what happens when you, or your lover or companion animal get hit by a car or get sick in some way? don't you feel like you should have some sort of plan? or if your apartment building catches on fire and you lose everything?

i feel the same way as you about some things, not being attached to money or possessions, but i work my ass off and save my money in case of an emergency or i need to relocate suddenly for any reason. a life without junk is great (i personally got rid of 90% of my possessions and gave up my apartment 6 months ago to travel. ) but you will probably be better off in the long run if you get a job or something.

How can anyone else tell someone they have no ambition.. simply based on "This is what I think of your life". She has a "job" (or a way to make money on her own).

Can you explain to me what this person is trying to say. I'm truely not understanding muchly what he says.

Is this pity he has or is he trying to offer cousil ? What kind of plan am I to have ? Is he trying to hire me ?

Some times it is not the problem of the language but of the concepts. I think much as Inuit and less as white people.

I don't wish to speak for him, but it comes off as the same concern most people have for people who live as you do...
the "What ifs" (What if this happens? What if this happens?) that keep people from living as freely as you do.
You make just enough money to pay your bills.
For a lot of people, that seems dangerous, like you are dangling at the edge of the cliff. One push could send you over the edge. Some people feel that one should "plan" for these emergencies and have money set aside, "just in case".
I think, in his own way, was offering advice (counsel), something you can choose to take or not to take.

I live in a tiny house. I drive a tiny, dependable 16 year old car that I bought for an excellent price. If my city used my car taxes towards public transportation, I wouldn't need a car. I don't have cable. I haven't bought any new clothes in 6 years, and I still feel guilty for having such an abundance of clothes sometimes. I cut my own hair, I make my own bath products. I budget a little bit of money for weed and beer.

When I was 18 I inherited a decent chunk of money. I blew through it. I bought a new car. I paid rent on a space too large for me. I bought way too many clothes, which is why I still have way too many clothes even though I haven't bought clothes in years. The rest I spent on travel and school. The last two things I don't regret blowing money on, everything else I could have done without.

I'm a lot happier now, broke as shit but without all the junk and clutter in my life. Junk, things, material possessions are an addiction; once you learn how to live without all that stuff you realize how little you really need.

Ive lived most of my life (80%) on under 600. Money doesnt mean anything to me. Easy come easy go. I cant live without the internet, but other things dont really matter. I dont watch TV except for breaking bad once a week. Which I can watch online. I walk or ride a bike. Simple life. Im very happy growing weed and mushrooms talking to friends online. I buy everything second hand. Im thrifty always looking for deals. I have to say that if anything happens to me im screwed I cant pay my rent I cant buy food. I think about it but im not too worried about it. I could easily make alot of money doing different things. I just dont bother. Its not important to have lots of money and things. Too many people get wrapped up in things. I wish I could find a partner that these things didnt matter to her. I would always support my partner I believe a man should take care of a woman. Just not in a mansion. I would feel out of place and uncomfortable living in one surrounded by all those things.

    Thank you muchly

My plan for "just in case" is simple. I have good knife, a axe, needles for sewing and 2 very warm blankets for sleeping.

My parents raised me very far north in a house they constructeted from materials of nature. I can always go to an indien reservation or directly to the forest. Everything I need to live is in a forest.

A tree is a community. If you study a tree you find that certain kind of plant grow around certain kind of tree. Animals eat certain kind of plants when they are sick.

If you watch the animals you can see what to use for medicine or just to eat.

I know wildcraft. This isnt the best idea. I see you spending many days and night's hungry or sick as a dog. Do some research on edible wild plants, setting snares, wild fishing, just wildcraft in general. You dont want to be starving in the forest.

My childhood was 250km more north of Umiujaq, Québec. In a house my parents built with trees, mud and rocks. We had no electricy or plumbings or furnance.

Interesting. Im canadian too. Did they practice wildcraft? Did they teach you? Just cause you grew up like that doesnt mean you can survive in the forest sweetie. There are necessary skills to survive. If you dont have them there is a good chance you could die of poisoning or other things. Do you know what to do if a bear comes to invade your camp cause you didnt know to hang your food from a tree? If you do hang it from the tree do you know how to keep other animals out of your food supply? These are the type of things you have to know to survive in the wild's.
