I can't stand the area in which I live. In October after I get my license, I am planning to get out of NY, just to get my mind/thoughts together. My dream was always to visit the UK, but my family over there is kind of crazy, so I don't think I will be going there. So I guess, my only choice is somewhere in the U.S(East coast). I love the country side, any ideas in where I can go to escape for a while.
The UK has some pretty sights, the Lake district, the garden of Kent and nspoilt areas of both Scotland and Wales I've been to can be breathtaking and the enviroment which can be wet and windy at times refreshes the parts others cannot reach (Just in case you look to go further afield)

I find oftentimes people who are not content with the place they live are never content anywhere they are. Just a random observation.
That is so not true, people need to escape for the better. For example, if you live in a bad neighborhood with a lot of negativity, wouldn't you want to escape somewhere more better?
Hey Kinky Ramona, I now understand what you are saying, about not being content. I been to other places in NY and I still feel a little uncomfortable, so maybe it just be.
In the U.k my family over there, who I never met, my mother told me that they have some kind of mental illness. I never lived with someone who has a mental illness , so I don't know what to expect.
