I didn't realize there were that many unemployed in NYC.

 

We have 2 protests over here - Oct 01 is the march against the Government's conference and then it is looking like Nov 30 for a National day of action - Having participated on the March in March hopefully we can have more of a positive response

you do now. of course you were just being satyrical. many of the protesters are employed. even some of them on wall street itself. but unimployment, real unemployment, as opposed to the fraction of it receiving unimployment bennifits, which is the deceptively low number corporate media prefers to quote, IS the highest its ever been since the depression of the 1930s. (and it looks a whole lot like its going to get a whole lot worse)

 

Went to Ground Zero on September 11th There was a big protest rally there, all cordoned-off by plentiful security. The protest was well organized and peaceful; though a bit loud. Manhattan was a mob-scene that day. and a security festival.

The boats of the Staten Island Ferry were being escorted by police gunboats.
