I'm in college now but school has never really been for me. I get good grades but nothing interests me. I plan on dropping out after this year and was wondering if there are any actual jobs in the marijuana industry (not a dealer). It's something I've always wanted to do and I don't think it would require any kind of degree.
Generally to get a job in the industry you'll need to be a patient. All the dispensary jobs & grow room tech jobs I saw ad's for in Denver required the applicant to have their MMJ patient card. But dont think they dont have an eye out for people with a horticultural background or gardening experience. Of course there are those around which arent so picky, just have to look.
Yeah I figured a background in growing would help, but I can't get my plants started until i leave school.
La cucaracha, la cucaracha, Ya no quieres caminar, Porque no tienes, Porque le falta, Marihuana que fumar...
Check places where you know they have dispensaries like in Denver and Boulder (or where u are or whatever) and find the ad's on craigslist, just write an introductory letter to the manager at different ones, ask questions etc,,, like any other Biz you wanna get into, sometimes you need to do some footwork. Speaking of, if anyone knows of a dispensary attached to or partnered with an RV park along the Oregon Coast, or perhaps has thought of opening one and is in need of an onsite Caretaker / Assistant gimmie a shout, we got biznis to discuss. :cheers2:
There are tons of marijuana jobs beyond just growing and being a budtender. MMJ Dispensaries need bankers, insurance agents, lobbyists and legal teams. You could go into a tenant finish construction where you build grow ops and store fronts for the dispensaries. If you are good with chemistry you could get a job testing THC levels in different products. A lot of what I mentioned requires a degree though...
Duh? They were maybe expecting a return address?? God forbid they actually have to work for the donuts.
