I'm getting ready to go on a short camping trip with the boyfriend in the next couple of weeks. Both of us have school and other obligations, so we won't be able to stay out very long, but it seems like it would be fun. Usually I camp in the hottest part of summer and spend a lot of time on the Current or Jacks Fork River while being gone for three or four days. This will be the first time I ever have been camping this late in the year, and I'm super excited! What does everyone think of little day and a half or two day camping trips? A good way to get away for a little while or are they more trouble than they're worth?
Love short camping trips. I've started doing them almost every weekend and it's become almost neccesary for my sanity. I usually vary it - beach one weekend, mountains the next, forest next one. It's not trouble if you've got a nice small and light tent you can pack up easy.
Definitely worth it ! go forth and enjoy !! One of my favorite quotes: "We do not go to the green woods and crystal waters to rough it, we go to smooth it. We get it rough enough at home; in towns and cities; in shops, offices, stores, banks anywhere that we may be placed—with the necessity always present of being on time and up to our work; of providing for the dependent ones; of keeping up, catching up, or getting left." ~ Woodcraft by Nessmuk (George W. Sears, 1920)
usually when i go camping it's only for two nights. and we take a bunch of stuff, because we don't go often. but yeah, it's worth it. have fun.
Hell yeah it is! I quite often go on small trips for a night if I have a day off uni or something. Better than nothing in any case!
