Kind of boring. Poor composition. Mediocre preformance. Tries to be more complex than they have the talent for, and it feels forced.

lol @ the people that never barely post in the metal threads posting their opinion.

not saying ur opinions are worthless just that you guys never contribute to the sub forum.

Sorry jmt, it just is not really that great. The music is fine, just slightly boring and not what I am looking for in my metal. I understand why you like it, through my time on hipforums I have listened to many-a-videos you have posted. You have an older style appreciation for metal. What I like to call "the old guard", unfortunately your particular taste usually comes with contempt for other styles of metal. North Americans seem more accepting of the "core" genres, the thrash sound, etc. You would find much more support for your taste in Europe I feel. Do not get me wrong, I listen to any metal I can get my hands on and can find metal I like from almost all genres. While musical ability is always a great thing in music, and the more talent shown the better chances of it being really good. However the only category by which I judge the music I like, or new music I am listening to, is whether or not it entertains me.

    Then why say it?

I too, feel like it was a little forced. Reminded me of Dragonforce, you just wanna shake them and yell, "you could be great if you stopped trying so damn hard" - but Dragonforce has stronger guitar.

I do like their style; and I guess I like the song - not enough to download though, it's sort've all over the place.

I love the section starting at 1:35, even though it sounds kind've out of place and random.

Aside from "Eternity" which I love (although some would hate it thinking it's cheesy!), I always thought FC were a very ordinary, 2nd rate power metal band. And definitely inferior to Dan Zimmerman's other band, Gamma Ray. Their latest album "Legend Of The Shadowking" however, I thought was amazing, and that they'd finally created an album that made them sound like they belong in the top tier of power metal bands. :) In places, the sound and atmosphere took on a darker tone than on previous albums, and welding that onto the memorable hookiness they had on "Eternity", resulted in their best album yet. And also better than Gamma Ray's latest! lol

I bought Freedom Call albums in my power metal fase  I was out of it by Eternity though. Stuff like Stairway to fairyland is much better than this in my humble opinion, but Freedom call were always over the top happy in a way most metalfans just don't approve. Yes, you should ignore their views of course if you dig this stuff!
