Hey fellas im just looking for some abstract clothing from shirts to hoodies but most of all i want a sweet hat somewhat like Simon Posford from Shpongle. If yalll know of any websites that would be great or hell post your psy clothing- Dan
Check out some second hand thrift shops like Goodwill or Salvation Army! They normally have some pretty groovy and funky clothing.
Yeah, thrift stores often have few things that would NOT be appropriate attire for attending a love-in.
Thrist stores are good to shop at. But you can really get any kind of attire from them goodwill... I worked at a goodwill and i always found really awesome stuff.
But goodwill feels so demeaning.... it's the goodwill, for chrissakes. I mean, that doesn't have to be a stigmatized name, but how it's used, it is. Sometimes they have awesome shit some places, but I still don't like christ motovated thrift chains, like goodwill (I think they are, but if not, still demeaning) and salvation army (forces people to pray for food, etc)
Yes i would say that after working there i wouldn't even so much shop or donate anything there... Cause they aren't even half of what they advertise. Cause really all that place is about is making money.. Really the only thing that i saw that was advertised that they did do was hire people with problems like down symdrome and autistic kids and stuff like that... but really i couldnt give a shit about that place. There were other around the town nice thrift shops that i did go that was cheaper than goodwill and much better too but as i can see they are some of the i guess you can say 'most known' that people suggest them.. But there was some pretty awesome stuff that was donated and since i worked there in the back and on the floor i pretty much saw just about all that went through the store or atleast a good part of it.
There are lots of psychedelic type clothes in regular department stores. Macy's has lots of button down shirts with paisley patterns and such. They aren't really geared towards the psychedelic culture but I think they look cool but are also professional enough to wear to work and such.
Ever hear of Gypsy rose? sign up for one of their catalogs. http://www.gypsyrose.com/ this is the stuff you usually see on Shakedown Street at festivals.
Make it bright, make it colourful, make it individual to your own taste. No need to be commercially bound - keep it simple, keep it cheap, keep it to be your own
Check out import stores as well. Often there is cool Indian-looking stuff, or hemp clothing, etc etc. Can be pretty fun, I've got a couple of Indian shirts that way.
