It just crossed my mind when my neighbor's cat was walking around in the backyard. He ran off as soon as he saw me walking near the glass door but... I've been wondering what people mean by cats having 9 lives. Does anyone know?
It was derived from the phrase cat o’ nine tails (or a whip) letting the cat out of the bag (taking the whip out of the carrying case) nine lives (often 18th century British seamen were whipped with a cat o’ nine tails and died due to infection) but the cat lived on Hotwater
Its cause they always get stuck in a tree or down a drain pipe or something. Or the cat o' nine thing
