The last few days here in the midwest US have been absolutely gorgeous! Perfect for fires at night and snuggling up with the boyfriend outside. I realize it will probably get uncomfortable hot again before fall is in full swing, but for now I am just enjoying it and getting excited about all of the fantastic stuff that goes along with fall. What are some of your favorite things about autumn?
the weather. even though i live in so cal and it doesnt get to terribly cold its beter then the 100 degree summer weather
Definitely! It's crazy because four days ago it was 101 degrees here, and yesterday and today it has only gotten into the 70's
Honestly, the smell of it. Call me a weirdo but everything smells so awesome during autumn...firewood burning, the smell of rain, the different candle scents available for autumn like apple and pumpkin. Its just awesome!
In addition to the usual fall foliage extravaganza which plays itself out on countless hillsides and river valley's throughout the northeast - there's americas former pastime baseball, along with college football, and the NFL :2thumbsup: © Ted Williams, 1939. Hotwater
Agreed about playoff baseball and the NFL, also the weather, the colors, the beers, just about everything! Autumn is easily my favorite time of year
Agreed, but I could do without the Halloween decorations on the store shelves two months in advance H
I love Halloween, but I have to admit that the stores try selling the decorations a bit early. Of course, I know a couple places that already have Christmas decorations out.
I like it when autumn really takes off how it gets cozier in the house. Nothing like chilling inside with the sound of rain and wind blowing around your house
Sweaters and flannel! Or maybe I'm just a weirdo for liking those. As soon as the weather cooled off, I felt like I had to make something with cinnamon. Ten dozen snicker doodles later, my house was smelling pretty awesome. I also love all the seasonal food and drink, like pumpkin pie and apple cider and (eventually) gingerbread.
I love the smells of fall and the crisp feeling that comes with the season. Not only the outdoor smells but also the indoor ones as we tend to make meals that take simmering and the apple pies are a given and the house smells like home.
The lovely, nightmarish, uni term starts again, and this beatiful warm glowing is produced by the thought of seeing all your fellow students running out of a burning building, trying to put out the fire that is consuming their flesh alive.
