Like, i found out from the pig who arrested me he has a tool to view my private profile and the post i make but where does it stop? example im in a private group and i posted a trip report but now im getting extremely paranoid he could and very much will somehow view the group. Can they also view messages you send and recieve?
dude just delete your account if you think thats going to be an issue. at least delete the post containing your trip report. you can also just change the name on your facebook account and take down all of the profile pictures containing your face.
Well i deleted the post, better safe then sorry. But still, its really starting to piss me off how little "privacy" we actually have aslong as the cop says its for probable cause. God damn i would have loved nothing more to punch him when he said he could view my private info because he was so damn smug about it like he was actually doing the world a favor.
did you really think that putting your 'private' information in the hands of a multi-billion dollar corporation that displays said information on the internet was the best way to keep secrets? you can still have privacy, you just need to make the right choices.
Unfortunately, with social networking sites like Facebook, even if you make your profile private, if people really want to, they have ways of still accessing content that you have made private to them. None of it is safe-proof, but it's why you have to be careful in regards to what you post/join on Facebook.
If you are doing anything illegal and the cops are suspicious of you doing something like a big serious crime that you will go to prison for then any item of technology from phone calls, emails, facebook, text message is gonna all be checked out. heck maybe even if the crime is serious enough they might even go through mail sent through the us postal service. now unless you are part of a criminal organization or something then they are not gonna waste their time. cops train people to infiltrate gangs and record conversations even. so pretty much if you are doing any serious big time drug operation to make huge cash the government is doing everything it can to stop you. depending on how much you make they will even hire spies that will hide and follow you everywhere you go. maybe even in the future they will hire spies to wear heat vision and xray goggles to spy on what you are doing inside. but never post drug deals or anything on facebook. there has been coke dealers in college raided because of that. but as far as talking about smoking weed or doing drugs then the police will not waste their time. a simple possesion charge is not worth a whole task force raiding your place.
Im sorry to bust your bubble buddy but FACEBOOK IS NOT MEANT FOR PRIVACY!! Its meant to spy on people, keep track of them, get as much info as can be gotton about them! YOU SHOULD GET OFF THERE IMMEDIATLY!!!!!
Yes and then all of the emails from any account, and then the emails of all recipients, from any account, and continue a link between them all, then find any commonality, at many many sub levels of communication, where the entry depths are at biodata levels, from there, mere movement of arms and legs and especially walking barefoot in the out of doors, the database has found bottom. This is the basest level.... it's all about running around with clean naked feet. for this reason I never put my foot in my mouth!.....I have dirty feet.

Like my mother told me a long time ago - if you don't want anyone to know, don't write it down. In this day and age that carries over to don't say it out loud, even. I wonder if thinking is safe anymore?
Facebook = C.I.A. + local police. You might as well just turn yourself into your local PD if you're going to post criminal activity on Facebook. It amazes me how the younger generations don't get it.
EVery account I've ever made on the computer since 1995 is in the name of a long ago friend that accidently died. We have the same nickname so it works good for Facebook and other things on the net. Once a year I google my real name and nothing but some references to my profession come up. I have no reason to be paranoid I just like privacy.
