How do I get people to visit my website?

I have a blog and a forum that I set up about 5 years ago,

www.coolestradio.com/forum

and noone ever seems to find them even though I update the blog every day, the forum used to be busy but isn't and I don't think anyone has ever joined without being invited personally

Now I don't want them to be massive successes, but it would be nice if people came across it every now and then. They aren't amazing, but the blog is updated more than most and imo nice looking as well but I have no idea how to advertise it (I don't want to go round lots of forums spamming people cos I hate that)

Ideas? Criticism?

sorry for the mixup, i just tend to use page1 of google to find the best links and homepages don't always show up.

I turned on all of the automatic trackback features and so on for my blog, i suppose it wouldn't hurt to be more pro-active messaging people who i feature....

You should get in touch with dressed in wires, there do seem to be a handful of artists in the north east making that sort of music but not many, it's always good to meet collaborators etc

 

Well the website is Malice In Sunderland, not FSL, so it wouldn't show up near the top anyway. Something I didn't really take into consideration when i set it up, but never mind.

Linking to the Alonetone page at least gave me an excuse to shoe-horn a link to your site into a discussion on the Alonetone forum. Expect a huge increase in traffic [...or maybe not].
