oh and is there anyone in melbourne? this place would be a lot cooler if there were other ppl like me around here. just got back from mendocino,ca last winter. im originally from michigan. my dad and most of his family were hippies back in the day, and i really learned the ways when i was in san fran/haight ashbury. back when it was cool anyways. now its a junkie wasteland.
Hey what's up? I'm in the Orlando area if your ever this way. How was Mendocino? My wife and I were thinking about moving out there in the next few years, we are really fed up with Florida.
i met a lot of ppl that used to live in florida that live there now. ok first> its cold in the summertime. the sun is never out, and alwayz foggy if you are on the coast. if you are beyond the hills (eukia, willits, and cloverdale etc) it is sunny and warm all the time in the summer. weed is essentially legal there. food is more xpensive, but mostly organic. if you live in the rural areas of mendo village etc, you can pay little to nothing for car insurance/rent. personally i hate the country i like living in town, so mendocino village was a natural place for me. fort bragg is really dirty, aint even worth going to unless you have to. stay away from a trailerpark called wildwoods on highway 20 near fort bragg. if you think bums/rednecks here are bad, you aint seen nothing till you go in that trailerpark!!! BUT, if you love pine trees, clean rivers, bluffs overlooking the ocean, and mild weather go. i'd recommend visiting it first before you move. i actually love where i live here in florida, but i do hate things about it. when i was there, a lot of the time, i missed living here. so i travelled 4,500+ miles to come back. only to miss mendocino lol
income tax in mendocino is 18%. there are A LOT of bums, most are tweakers. there are also a lot of travelling hippie/street kids. it is very country-esque. very open minded atmosphere as well. you should definately check out mendocino village. in the summer and fall it is like keywest. in late october/early november the rain comes. the winter/spring is their rain season. it is definately worth a visit to see what its like, but if you wanna move there its up to you. you know the beaches in melbourne are really nice too btw!!
Awesome! Thanks for the info. I've never been to Melbourne maybe I will have to check it out one day, I love the beach and I have heard from several people how nice the beach is there.
its a quaint atmosphere, i think you'll like it. personally a long time ago when i was a kid i live in orlando. my first job was the jcc. and i aint jewish. but i learned a lot about jewish ppl. BUT, orlando isn't my place. i think you'll like it here, think of it as lil mendo. mendo has the same idea: quaint small town, enjoying nature, but remember it's east coast, and fast paced.
