i do not struggle FOR chainge, at least not struggle, and not directly, but rather avoid, to the best of my ability, contributing to the perpetuation of hierarchy.

i let others worry about whether that makes anarchist, taoist, neither or both.

i THINK lao tsu would have done the same, but i couldn't swear to it.

please don't trust wiki to teach you daoism. i tried looking for the translation of the line in the dao de jing that said 'long speech is exhausting. better to stay balanced.' and all i found was extended interpretations :)

government is the opposite of wu wei, because it influences and controls. Therefore anarchism is acceptable, and even smiled upon in taosim.

This is really interesting, I'm definitely going to read up on the relationship between Taoism and Anarchy.

I think giving up on enslavement from the mentality of consumerism and materialism would be key in achieving any kind of maintainable anarchist state where hierarchies and the contrived and over-inflated sense of self that give rise to them are non-existent.

If there's one thing I've noticed during my study of the Tao is that it seems compatible with almost any religion and or philosophy. In some aspects you could even throw it together with Scientology and or atheism and it'd still work to a certain extent, given that the atheist or scientologist were at least a little openminded.

An Asian Taoist temple is typically guarded by a giant monster and they teach that the human body alone has 8,000 gods inhabiting it. Western Taoists tend to be more philosophical and lean towards anarchism and libertarianism.

define "anarchist". the answer depends entirely on your definition of it.
i do not perceive an inherent over all hierarchy to the reality of this physical universe.
but then, i'm not an authority on how the teachings of the tao in this age are interpreted.
that is none the less my observation. that is of less value to anyone other them myself, then what they can observes themselves, with their own detachment and powers of observation.
