i have been working on losing a total of 60 lbs for about 3 years. during the last 3 years i have hit so many plateau's...i'll lose for a couple months, then 3 months later i either stick with the same weight or gain some back. as a result, i have only lost 30 lbs in 3 years. i want to lose about 30 more lbs, but i don't want to wait 3 more years. it's like taking 2 steps forward, then three steps back. i thank my lucky stars that i'm not as big as i used to be, but i want to get down to the weight that i'm most comfortable at, which is about 130. i know that i need to just stick with what i've been doing and not give up...i just needed to vent that's all...anyone else hit any plateau's during your journey?

do you weight train, if not try it. a little extra muscle helps you burn more fat. aproix 50cals more per day per pound of muscle. put on 10 pounds of muscle over a year or two, and youll be burning 500 more caleries per day

dont use light wieghts like I see a lot of girls dooing. no 5 pound arm curls, no one is that week unless thier an invalid. To build muscle you need to use heavy weights. you have to push you body so that the particlular muscle your working is exausted wihtin 8-10 reps.

ie 3 sets, 1st is warm up, low weight and 20 reps
2nd, noww your pushing wieght 10 reps
3rd even more weigh, muscle failure in 8-10 reps

every time you go in to the gym you have try harder, push more wieght or push for more reps. thats how you build muslce. and dont worry you will not look like some freeky muscle chick.

Muscle weighs more than fat does. You could have very well lost more than 30 lbs. The only thing is you may have gained some back in muscle. Thats just the way things go.
